Has anyone run the Thunder Cat 31 nitro quite a bit? I recently aquired one in a trade for some non FE stuff. Its pretty much new rtr. I just want some backround before I go blowing money on a costly conversion I won't be happy with. I am mostly concerned with the handeling.
Thanks
Tom

Talk about bad timing. Was it a complete boat? I just bought some TC31 parts, .32 motor, fittings and exhaust system all brand new, to put in a Mean Machine hull for my youngest son.

He says the electrics are neat but the smell of burnt fuel and loud engines are more exciting. I am hoping we dont get kicked off our lake.

I will hit those links when I get home. It will jam up my phone if I attempt it mobile. Yes it is a new rtr boat with a few runs from what I'm told. It has an extra tiger drive starter also. I don' wana run fuel in our lake either. I just don't wana waist time & money. I'll get more if I unload it rtr than if I clean it out and prep it for FE.

Ok after the first video I would say yes it turns. Unlike it's little brother. Looks like this one will be a go. On a side note that ShockWave 36 was a chine walking slob!!! To think I have one in the mail headed to me now..I better intraduce it to some big trim tabs post haste.

Ahh, I didn't notice this post here before !
I know you sold the tc31 Jay, but I'll just post a little info for anyone elnse looking to convert one.

It was my second boat, I set it up with a neu 1912-1y (800kv) on 10s swinging a 646/3, around 2700-3000 watts is what it ran at.
It turned pretty decent as long as you weren't too rammy with the throttle, but definitally lost it's composure past 55 mph. It just was just too short and had too much lift for that kind of power. Prop walked like crazy !
Taping the hatch was near impossible so a sub hatch must be constructed and new hold downs for the front of the existing hatch whipped up.

Regards,
Nathan
