Can anyone clarify what is meant by a thinned prop.

When I sharpen my props I usually work back about 1/4 to 1/3 the width of the blade to blend in the edge. This effectively thins the edge of the blade

When balancing I file or sand material of the back side (drive dog side) of the blade to remove material, which thins, to some degree at least, one of the blades.

But I often see props described as thinned, and lightweight.

Are these these types of props thinned on the entire blade surface.

Thanks
Kevin

That is right:

"thinned, and lightweight; thinned on the entire blade surface."
