I posted this in the Prop Forum Section but it might be better suited here..

You may have seen that I upgraded the Motor and ESC in my Traxxas Spartan
I installed the Leopard 3674 1300KV Motor and Sea King 120A ESC,

I tried the running the Grim Racer 42mm X 55mm but she seems kinda sluggish. I switched back to the stock 42mm X 59mm and it was a little better.

Im wondering what you guys think I should possibly try, granted it may take a couple to find the sweet spot but at least I have a motor and ESC that can push this 36" hull with no heat issues.
Should I try the Prather 225 or the Octura X445, or something a little bigger?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

'Im running 2 Venom 3S2P 6400mah Batteries so they are a bit heavier than the normal 5000mah lipo's out there that most people seem to be running.

Here is a short clip of some passes....., until i get a gps or radar gun I have no idea but I know it's not even pushing the 50mph mark

I think he is after something bigger :spy:
his motor and esc were only 63-64*

Yeah, I was trying to interperet what sluggish meant. The x640 actually has more total pitch than an x445 and I thought it may work better as wobbly as the Spartan is, more thrust, less diameter.

It took me a while to get what that ment to..

36" boat = more diameter needed. I'd be worried about the 120 amp esc though.

For more diameter, a 445 would be a step up but I'd try the M series

I think right now he is only pulling about 30amps

The S225 is ALOT of prop...................almost 47mm and aggressive pitch................it's too much prop in my opinion............try the M445 first.

Must the prop be balanced and sharpen ?
I can see there is a big difference in price....
Can we just use the normal not balanced not sharpen props ?
Please advice

I would definitely have the prop balanced and sharpen, for peek performance:thumbup1: and minimum stress on your "Drive System" (Motor, Bearings, and Flex cable).
