Are these more along the Cyberstorm in design??? I need something that can handle race water. The Pirate looks like it has a little more bow flare than the other DF's.

I have a new 1527 1y and havent decided what to put it in. I think Don may attempt to open up "open nitro mono" to FE's. You think KP's B-hydro is fast, you should see his Open Nitro Seaducer.

The DF red does have an orange tinge to it. I ordered my Sniper from you Steven and couldnt figure out if it was orange or red when I first got it. When I saw pics of another Sniper that was "real" orange, I figured DF's red just wasnt the shade I was expecting.

i have seen some df's 33's that have come in definately red though too..and there is no mistaking it for red or orange..maybe samuel has different shades of red that are borderline orange or something

I'd love to see the pictures. Sorry about the mixup. Not sure how we missed that on shipping. Samuel does have a bunch of colors. I will start a thread on my daughters hull for 2011.

Remember that signal red sometimes can have a an orange tint, specially if the gelcoat layer is very thin.
When you order boats, ask for 3756 signal red.
On my website there is a color scheme of all the gelcoat colors, but only a few of the colors are in stock.

Aaron, I guess you have got 3950 Pirate red on your former boats.... Sure does have a tint of orange... The boat on the pic looks signal red to me.

I agree with Doug, just a inch shorter. That hatch will be a bunch easier to tape than the Storm.

Nope, Our P-mono rules require the hull to no longer than 34" or about 863mm.

Aha, I should have read the rulebook, didn`t know about that rule ;-) sorry

Aaron, that boat seems to be 3950 Pirate red...

3987 post office red is a tad deeper red than signal red, very nice color. On the web color map it is hard to see how the color really looks like.

@Steven, ask for post office red next time. I might be able to take some red boats as well if he need a bigger qty to get this color.

I think I may want one of these 35" pirates but I need a little advice b4 I order.
I have a spare castle 1515 2200kv and 1/2 dozen 4s 5000mAh 45-90c lipo's, would this hull suite these? I have just ordered a 1717 1580kv for the truck on 6s so I'd like to make use of what Im taking out. Sorry I know I sound lame but I had my mind set on the spartan and have now decided to build my own boat. I've been reading up a lot and think Im beginning to get a bit of an idea on all this fe stuff, I really just want a boat that can run all day and go reasonably fast.:help:

The 1515 is a bit smallish for a 35" mono Keep it in your truck. The 1717 is PERFECT for this hull.

should I maybe look at a tad smaller hull? a 29-32", would they match the motor better?

Hi, I've put together a shopping cart with a bit of guidence from steve and b4 I hit the go button I need a little reasurance that it'll all fit and function the way it should and if I've missed anything. That looks good. The rudder is a tad large, but it can be shortened. I usually suggest the 21 mono rudder.

Im going for the dual water intake, do you have any idea of when you'll get the 1717 water coolers in stock? and could you please advise me of a few props for both the 1515 set up and the 1717 set up, if I know the model numbers I can add them to my order and send it through.

Steven Vaccaro

1717 jackets should be in a week or so. Start with an octura x442

millzee
02-02-2011, 09:46 PM
thanks steve
the x442, would that be better suited to the 1717 or the 1515 or am I asking dumb newbie questions that don't really matter? I 'll read up a little more on prop's tonight and try to work it out.
