When you say "ob" do you mean outboard?
I have a boat with twin EP1 outboards and I pull the motor off the housing and make sure there is no water in the gears and re-lubricate the gears.

yes ,i mean outboards does it matter if the inside of the motors get wet?
do you spray it down with wd 40 ,to get ride of the moisture .

I spray my motor with WD40 after EVERY Run on my OB. I will also spray my in board motors with WD40 after a race day or pratice day. It won't hurt anything.
britscoot's recommendation of CorrosinX isn't a bad product. However, it is more $$ than the WD40
