Are they as reliable as any other "comparable" ESC on the market? Is it necessary to order the programming card or can they be used out of the box for the average sport boater, like myself?

1 ESC would go in my MG with a CC 1512 1800kv motor on 4S. The other would be for my BJ26 build and a Feigao 1830KV, XL motor which would be run on 4S as well.

Thanks in advance!
Rafael

The T180s are hobbywing seaking 180s. The same esc steve sells here. IMO THEY ARE GREAT! I love the hobbywing seakings I have had the the 120s, 180s,and 80hv and love them all. Yes you can program without the programming card but it makes life eaasy. Default timing is 15* which should be fine with you CC, but maybe to much for the Feigao. They are great for their value and I love them!

I have the following in my boats.
Seaking 120 in my skunkworks cat on a leopard 4074 1774kv
Seaking 180 in DF33 copy on a leopard 4074 2200kv
Seaking 120 in a BJ26 with a Typhoon 1800kv outrunner.

Thanks for the reply, Diesel. I thought the Hobbywing looked identical but wasn't too sure if it was the same thing or not.

I don't think I will push them near the 180A "threshold" but since the 120A ESC is out of stock, I figured I would rather have room to grow them outgrow the ESC.

Yea hobbycity doesn't make anything on their own, they re-badge everything. Venom hobby does the same thing. Their ekos esc's are seaking's as well. Hobbycity charges dirt cheap and venom charges crazy more for the same esc's. The Turnigy marine esc's are hobbywing seaking esc's, the turnigy aquastar esc's are hifei swordfish esc's. Steve sells both here.

Oh, I didn't know the Aquastar was the same as Swordfish. Any input on the quality of the Aquastar ESCs? I had heard that the ekos used re badged 60A Turnigy ESCs but by what I have read they have a high failure rate, right? Or do you think it's more user error, like with the Pro Boat electronics.

For what I have planned are the 180A overkill? Should I get 2, Aquastar 120 ESCs instead?

Thanks for helping me:beerchug:

Venom are re-badge hobbywing seaking's. Hobbywing is the maker of the turnigy/venom esc's. I thinkg the motor mount screw on the ekos where to long causing touching the windings of the motors causing to burn out taking the esc's with them. The ekos just had a lot of stupid problems, venom dropped the ball on that one. Most of the problems could have been prevented with good quality control. Get the highest esc's you can efford. No such thing as overkill. I used the aquastars before, I like the seakings better though JMO.

I have not personnally tried the 200amp, but I have tried the 120s and it worked good for me and was a good value. Seems like people like the 200s though. Haven't read anything negative about them or the 240hv's.

Anyone know where I can buy these in the USA? I bought two from Hobby Hot in Hong Kong weeks ago and according to the crappy USPS tracking its stuck in NY. Been there for over a week with no movement.

In doing some research on the USPS there are people waiting months for parcels stuck in Customs in Jamaica NY.

I'm tired of waiting and want to buy another pair and have them overnighted. When or if the ones from China every arrive I'll decide to either sell them or keep them as spares.

Scarab, I have used himodel website for a esc purchase and they were very fast from China (less than a week). Prices are decent also.

I know this is a little late for ScarabChris, but for others looking to buy them US rather than china, hobbypartz.com also carries them.

I looked at Hobby Partz and they didn't have them, now I see they do. Strange.

Anyway....Kintec got back to me right away, he only had one and will have it to my by Monday. I got the other from Value Hobby and hopefully that one will get here Monday too.

With my luck all 4 will arrive at the same time.
