I just received a new motor in the mail. I'm waiting on the performance specs.
Its the motor on the right. For reference I included a feigao xl on the left and kb45 in the middle. its 52mm in diameter and 28 ounces. The kv on the particular sample is 1200, but I can get a few different kv's. I will be testing it over the next several weeks.

That might be the one for the Rio, Steve.

Is that a 10mm shaft?

it has a 8mm shaft

Hmmmm.... Something in the either 850 or 1000 KV range??? Would this be a 1/8th scale candidate??

A budget 1/8 motor would be way cool.

Steven,
It's a 2 pole?

Its a 2 pole. I was a bit let down to hear this morning thats its only rated for 60 amps. Has a max of 50k rpm and 2.5kw.

awe!.8
I bet that motor would go great as a low cost motor for a 1/8th
Or just a fun motor for a large boat.
Thanks Steven.

Airplane prop and a water jacket?

I LIKE it!!!!!!!

Airplane prop and a water jacket?

I LIKE it!!!!!!! lol, that's my feigao test motor. I change prop sizes to put different demands on the esc's I'm testing. The water jackets on there because it was the first sample I tested for leaks. For those of you who have never played with rc planes, you wouldn't believe how much thrust a 10xl motor on 12 cells will deliver. Its quite scary. My main fear is the prop coming off for some reason. This winter I want to build a lexan box to put the motor in while testing.

What kV's can you get? Any idea what the Rm and Io values are?

2.4kW is running 40V @ 60 amps. It may be a bit more capable than the numbers indicate.

Steven,
It's a 2 pole?

Of course what you mean is figuring out a way to run it on 30S in an AquaCraft King's Ransom

I can just see it now!!! :D

I asked, but so far no response.

These are the specs on the motor I received.
KV: 1200
Resistance: 0.0264ohm
Io: 1.4A

Steven, if you get more of these motors in, I would like to test the 1200 kv. I have a 1200 KV Fiegao and a 1200 KV KB45 to compare it to on the lake. I will gladly pay for it.

What would you test it in MR Watts?

I would replace the KB45 1200 kv in the M1 Supercat. I think it should handle the extra weight ok. It would be a good comparison using the same voltage, hull and controller while finding what the amps, prop and speed difference are in the three. I have already tried the Fiegao 1200 kv motor in this hull. This is a pretty versatile hull.

In order to make it shine I think its going to need a hull running 8s. But I could be wrong.

I want to run one in a 44" sniper on 8s to see how it goes.

That is what I am running the 1200 kv Fiegao and KB45 on. 8S

Wow a boat that size with a feigao xl and 8s. What prop are you running. I didn't realize it could push that much.

ReddyWatts

Yep, it was running about 40. I posted a video on here somewhere.

Here is the 1200kv Fiegao running on sport Tenergy batteries. 8S voltage

This is the 1200kv KB45 with the same 8S setup on IB3600 cells.

Y537/3 direct drive on both. Running the smaller prop is like running them on a trans allowing higher rpm and speed.

ReddyWatts

FeCalc says the 1200kv motor on 8S with a X640 prop will use 88 amps and run over 50mph. 2550 Watts. 31000rpm

The Y537/3 will use 60 amps at over 50 mph, if this is truly a 60 amp max motor. 1800 Watts. 32000 rpm

I can try this motor with these props on 8S in the 34" supercat hull for the best speed and keeping the amps low.

It will turn the larger props on 6S and run in the 40's for larger hulls.

Thats my 2 cents worth.

Mr Watts...are you saying the smaller S-Cat hull such as mine or the M-cat?

I have the 34" M-supercat.

Thanks, I corrected the previous post, It was misleading.
