Hey again.
I was forced to make a sport hydro. So i have.
It hasn't even been proven, But based of designed that have worked in the passed this one with a little more fine tuning should work out just great.
It is 26 and 5/8th inches long to be N2( E1) legal.
and 14 inches wide.
This is a hi amp N2 (E1) sport hydro. I will hopefully make a smaller one for the smaller amp set ups to be competitive. Nowa days everything is go big or go home and the max limits have to be used because of the sheer power some of the race boats put out.
So i build to serve.
I can fit up to 4s2p in the boat but it will run off 2s2p, and like my other boats are build to handle the largest motor just in case. I have a very primitive drawing here, But i do have all the piece on another page ( cant show you). I need to find a good name for the boat, As you can on on the bottom it says "bottoms up" thats not the name but rather when the boat flips over just something funny! lol:buttrock:
the picture gives you kinda a idea but does not do justice.

Taylor it looks great. I would run a 4-s sport setup in that thing and be quite happy. As to a name, when I looked at it the word Vulcan came to mind. Like the cannon. IDK things just pop into that mess of a mind I have like that...lol

Thanks guys.
4s in this thing , You gota be crazy, maybe a slow sport boat, but this little thing at 65+ would be crazy!.
Name: i have no idea, Vulcan sounds cool but it is already used.

Why would it be a slow SB??? Is it heavy or somthing. FIY I know noda about hydros..lol

well Tom, this boat is 26 inches long about and for a 4s setup capable of 65+ would just be crazy, I have seen many 32 inch boats get very sick at over 60 mph.
If you had a slow 4s setup like a sport setup with a hi wind they it would be ok, Such as the sv27 setup as a example of a slow sport setup.

well guys I just laid the boat out with 2s2p and everything and the CG seems to be perfect!! with the servo in the back and the BEC pack in the middle it is great, My packs and half of my motor fit ahead of the CG and all that is in the back is the hardware, rec. and servo.
Plus i laid it out with only 3700's packs ( 2p) so if the 4350s or 5000s are used it will be even better ( weight wize),
You can get away with a HS85 MG in this boat for sure, But i used a full size Jr 570 MG servo ( way over kill).
So it looks to be as though CG with any setup will work with out aggrivations.
If you have some CG problem, just move the servo up closer to the bow.
Its that simple. I am very pleased with the way the boat is laid out !!

When you say 2S2P do you mean in series or parallel?

Eyekandyboats
12-05-2007, 05:06 PM
I mean both

2s = two cells in Series
2p= two cells in Parallel

You are going to try the Neu 1512? What wind? What esc?

Eyekandyboats
12-05-2007, 05:14 PM
well there will be two n2 (E1) boats made.
my smaller one ( 24 inches) will be running a Mega 22/20/1 ( 5500kv) on a 1P setup, This boat will be aimed to the fun running guy who doesn't want to spend 1Lots of money to setup a 2s boat,
esc : Just a small CC120 for the smaller hydro,

This one that i have here is going to most likely use a 1509 or a 1512, 1D,
speeds. well thats easy, a hydra 240 for this one. Over kill never hurt, It saves speed controllers

This is the start of the build, First you see see the centre tub and then the outer sections, last you will see the profile of the sponons
the sponons are foam core for ease of building.

Taylor I see what you mean in regards to setup now. Thanks for the explantion. I have been holding of on hydros untill I complete my mono and cat education to a point where I don't need tech suport. I still hve a ways to go.

and i haven't even thrown mine in the water yet, and the water is hard.

It will be a while

any updates?!?!?!?!

Eyekandyboats
12-08-2007, 01:36 PM
I built the boat in like half a day on and off.

Nope, No updates other then some mods on the drawings.
I found this boat will have CG about 1.75 inches behind the sponson so i had to take some weight off the back end.

I'm at a stand still right now. I made a small mistake in CG terms. It was just a error on my part. Other then that every thing went together 100% cool!.
It will be like this for a week or so, until i can get some work done on the laser to cut the skin and then the foam cutter to cut the WOF sponons
