I want to store my lipos outside in my garage but was wondering how the cold winter months would affect them?I have a old bar fridge that doesn't work i want to use a storage cabinet.

Actually cold storage is recomended for Lipos, has to do with putting the chemistry dormant.

OK....does that apply to the cold temps of the frozen tundra here in Edmonton? -20C?

I was thinking of throwing them in one of those coolers on my deck

I'm gonna store my lipos in the freezer wrapped in 2 ziplock bags inside a military ammo box that's weather proof :)
