Incase you missed it in the "What works for me" thread.

4S2P, Turnigy 120A, stock 1500 motor, M445. 4 minute heat. Esc was 117 degrees. Motor was 102, Batteries were 97&99. I borrowed the batts from a fellow racer, They were Turnigy 4000mah, and I think 20C.

Yes, using Octura offsets. the only thing I fond I do not like about it is it has a heck of a time rounding the inside bouy and making the left turn to get back out to bouy 1. Im hoping w/ some tuning I can get it better than it is.

So, how does that work for boat racing? Is it timed? I'm used to Short Course Truck racing where the leader takes the win. I have never raced or attended an RC boat race before but looks like it would be fun! The MG looked great out there....nice barrel roll BTW:thumbup:

Yeah Ive been practicing that barrel roll :bounce: That particular race is "offshore" format, where we run for 4 minutes. Most laps wins. Most races are 5 or 6 laps, which takes, depending on the speeds of the boats, a minute and a half to a couple/ three minutes.

I thought you did a fine job and if you had another lap or two you might have caught him, or he could have flipped his boat. That thing was sure loose!! Fun to watch. The Geigo looks a lot more stable and hey, it can do barrel rolls and not miss a beat!

Thanks guys. Im really happy w/ the way shes running. BC, I gps'd it using 4S1P at 41 on the M445. That race was on 4S2P, not sure how that would change teh speed. More to give, but heavier.

Scott, throw a 1512, 2650 in it. I hear the boat really comes to life with that motor:thumbup1:

J/K. I know that motor is probably not allowed for racing.

from what i've read in the rule book you are more limited by voltage then by motor. like under 15 volts but any motor and certain regulations on hull sizes.

I will say the gas race i went to yesterday was a little bit more fun to watch but i think that was because there was more boats on the water.

Question about racing, is this P offshore? are you guys running the offshore course that has the left hand turn down the front straight? I will be racing soon and i think i may have been practicing running the wrong course. My rudder offset was done using some spacers i had laying around. Overall shift to the right was 1 inch as compared to the 2 some others are doing. Using a ul1 motor and 4s2p I don't get any porpoising/ wa wa wa and I can still turn great in both directions

LSO or Limited Spec Offshore. Motors eligible include the UL-1, Proboat motors, SV motor etc. Keepin mine stock for that class purpose. Plus, I dont need another 55+mph boat. And yes, theres a left hand bouy and now theres another bouy (far right corner) that has changed the course slightly from whats in the video.

So LSO would be better then P offshore ? I have the ul1 motor with t120 so I'm good to go there right?. This boat goes plenty fast with a ul1 and m445.

Yes, LSO would be the way to go with your set up.

Hey Rich, too hot imo for that set up with out current water temps. I changed the set up the last time Lawson was there as after my first race she came in if I remember correctly low 150s on the motor and upper 140s on the esc. Im running a different prop now. prather.... 220 I think? The one thats 43ish mm. Now it runs low 130s motor and mid 120s on the esc after a 4 min heat. Will go back to the M445 when it cools off. I also had a 120 let go right when the water warmed up, so Im now running a 180 in it.
