I have a MG with a s/b x642, octura offset rudder, 2S 7.4v 45c/90c 5400mah hyperion batteries and stock motor and esc. The wife let me spend some of my money lol I would like to run in the 50-55 range on a 4S or 6S if its a must. Ive read about some guys running in the 50's on 4s but not sure if thats truly reliable and will run cool. Running on 5S is not an option due to pack mah ratings. I would like some suggestions on a motor and esc setup that would run cool on 4 or 6s.

Thanks in advance!!!

A Leopard 4074 2200kv (http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=leo-4074&cat=148), CC 1515 1y 2200kv (http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=cas-1515-series&cat=134) or a NEU 1515 1y 2200kv (http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=neu-1515&cat=117) would all get you into the 50s on 4s with a x642 although you should run 4s2p. You could even swing a bigger prop on those motors. Of course you would need a bigger esc. A Seaking 180 (http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ker-seaking-180) or Swordfish 200 (http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=hef-sword-200lv) would work nicely.

It may be interesting to see responds here since I also have permission to ask Santa for MG or Stiletto.....

How about M445 on stock motor ( BJ-1500 KV ) and T-120 ESC on 4S?:confused2:
Some people are running this prop with UL-1 power on 4S without any issues....

I was thinking the NEU 1515 because i think its probably the best motor and leaves me room for MORE speed later :spy: Also im a little bit intimidated by the swordfish 200. The programming may be abit to complex but i dont know..

Is the MG motor the same?

MG and BJ is the same wicked motor.
My DF-29 on 4S with BJ motor and T-120 is easyly spinning X642, M445, M448, X447, X450, no temp issues!
Best speed was on M645 prop that I was trying and getting it from Steve now, so BJ motor its a workhorse for real. When I get this boat I will do testind of all props I have on stock motor with stronger ESC on 4S.
I am sure MG will rip the water out of the pond on 5S and stock motor but ESC would need to be upgraded in my opinion....

I dont have matching packs to make 5s... Thats why i wanna stay with 4s and i have about 4 or 5 sets. Thats why i would rather upgrade the motor esc cause i have alotta $ in high dollar packs. 2s1p packs will work for a better combo rite???

I put a Leopard 4074 2000kV motor and Hobbywing Sea-King 180A ESC in my MG. With this set-up I am running 53-56 mph on 4S. All of my temps were barely luke warm. I, too, am running an Octura s/b/p x642 prop.

You could change the esc and run the stock motor on 6s :spy:

(of course you would have to dump the 3.5mm on the motor/esc and slap on some 5.5 or bigger)
