I have stripped the nitro motor out and almost everything else to see where I should start

I always liked the looks of these (and miss bud) when they had been converted to electric
With the empty space I set in a 8XL fiego , a hacker 77 and 2 2S 4350 lipos to see what would fit
I was happy to find that I had enough room on each side of the motor for the lipos to sit and be below the top lip of the boat hatch opening
next I will have to build a motor mount out of aluminum
ps I would like to get this on the water before everything gets frozen but it does not look good we are getting 6 inches of snow tonight and thursday
please add coments or suggestions (but not too harsh:)) along the way
One thing I would like to ask of the guys that have converted these before is where did your center of gravity COG end up ??
I am now where near the turn fin but I do not think the nitro boat was either

I hear you about the snow, I'm waiting for it to hit as well:tongue_smilie:

It originally had a SV-27 motor and speed controller and now has a XL9 on 4S LiPo with the SV controller, it runs in the low 40's consistently.
The pack is velcroed on to the radio hatch cover.
Originally it ran on 14 cells, 1 pack in the cockpit and one on the radio hatch. It was better balanced that way but with the single LiPo, its mutch faster. Be sure to waterproof your LiPos
Its a fun boat:D :D

OK I want it back now..............
sadly enough I am looking for another one, I realized that i want a hydro now.
how dumb is that? well good luck with the biuld man, I was thinking of a 4S 4350 or 5000mah right in the middle somewhere..........IDK :confused1:
Eboat if that where my hull I would cut & section the top out of that hull. Making a larger hatch to work with. It wouldnt be easy but would make component and battery placment 100 times easer.

I looked at the miss Vegas boat for that very reason but I went this way because Llumar is lighter to start with

I cut out my motor mount and got it stuck in the boat with some 30 min epoxy
I drilled some holes in the base of the mount so the epoxy would work its way through
where I put the mount in the boat the bottom would flex very easily so I was going to add a layer of fiberglass over top to add some stiffness to it
When I mixed the epoxy I had extra so I just added it around the edge of my mount and it has stiffened up the bottom very well so I will leave it as is for now and see how it holds up

where is your COG with the lipos on top of the radio box ?
when I have mine slide up beside the motor as far forward as they can go it is still a good 1 1/2 " back of the turn fin
