Obviously the c rating does make a difference but would I see any improvement on my p1 king of shaves using a 5000mah 40c 4s1p instead of the 5800mah 25c 4s2p I am using at the mo?

That's what I was hoping to hear. So it's not just a case of bigger motor and esc= more speed, I suppose 25c is pretty low really!

You are talking 200A continuous discharge (5000mah 40c) vs 145A continuous discharge (5800mah 25c).

Not sure of the spec of your ESC, but if for example it's only rated at 100A, then no, you probably won't see much of a difference.

I'm using a venom p1 kos, stock motor but 90amp seaking esc, at least a higher c rating will keep the battery cooler.

Absolutely correct. And if you upgrade in the future, you'll already be covered. I always tell people to get the highest C rating and highest capacity packs they can afford.

Don't expect to...... A 1P configuration means all the current draw must pass through each cell and will therefore tend to depress the voltage more than a 2P configuration, everything else being equal. I would expect to see little, if any, improvement when going from 2P to 1P, even if you are going from 25C to 40C rated batteries. Going the other way (1P to 2P) will usually improve things far more. Understand that a 2 P set up of 25C batteries is actually a 50 C configuration. OOps see post 10 below


The C rating is what the battery can safely deliver, not what it will deliver, given your motor/prop/hull arrangement

But a 2p can pull more amps safely...almost twice as much as a 1p.

So do this 5000x20 = 100 amps or 10,000 x 20 = 200 amps. Same C but more MAH. So amp increase is correct but not C rating increase.

Kookie_guy is quite correct, my mistake.:sorry:

What I should have written was that the 2P arrangement can deliver twice the current than the same cells in 2S arrangement can (more or less).

I guess if the manufacturers labelled their packs with the safe Amperage figure rather than some dubious C number it would avoid all this confusion.
