I just bought a new DX3R will it bind to the old Spektrum recievers and work?

I think I will like the model match that prevents model to not be able to run, unless it is on the right receiver and model memory is setup for that receiver.

I would think they would be backward compatible

The new transmitter will bind to both old and new recievers. And the DX3R will bind to the old Spektrum recievers and work.

But the old transmitter will not bind to the new receiver.

Thanks for your input.

I am still learning more each day on this radio transmitter they talk back and forth.

Unfortunately, your new DX3R TX will NOT work with the New MARINE (MR3000 or MR200) RX's...

If you are using the SR-series RXs in boats, just make sure that you mount the RX with the antenna up as HIGH as you can get it. I've NEVER had an issue using the SR3100 RXs in boats, but I have seen others who have.

I am not sure you are correct my DX3R will use any DSM2 technology but is also compatible with most DSM1 Spektrum surface receivers. It does work faster with the DSM2 receiver like the AR3100. I will have to read more to be sure, My transmitter has a learning feature that is interesting.

Randy, if it doesn't have the Marine Logo, it will not bind with marine rx's. I'm personally frothing at the mouth for the new DX3r version that will work with Marine.

Randy... I'm a Spektrum sponsored racer, who also does testing for all of their marine products... I assure you that I am correct... ;)

The DX3R is not currently compatible with the MR-series RXs... If the TX does not have the marine logo on it...

Then it's not compatible, and Spektrum has NOT released a DX3R that has the marine logo on it at this point.

I have asked about it and it's not in the works at this time.

The following TX's are currently compatible with the Marine line of RXs:

Compatible Surface Transmitters (must have Marine logo):
DX3S (SPM3140)
DX2S (SPM2120)
DX3E (SPM3160)
new DX2.0 (SPM20220)*
new DX3.0 (SPM20320)*

*Please note: Earlier versions of the DX2.0 (SPM20200, SPM20210), DX3.0 (SPM20300, SPM20310), and DX3S (SPM3130) are not compatible with the MR3000.

Compatible Aircraft Transmitters:
JR12X
JRX9303
Spektrum DX8
Spektrum DX7
Spektrum DX7se
Spektrum DX6i
Spektrum DX5e
Spektrum DSM2 Aircraft Module Systems

I can assure you that, as soon as they do release something new that is Marine compatible, I'll be the first one out here to tell everyone about it! :beerchug:

Good to know, I will be looking at/for transmitters with the marine logo before I buy a Marine receiver.

Thanks for the info, I am still sorting this out. I know you are as accurate as possible. Thanks again.
