new to boating

ok im looking getting a rc boat. in particular the new AuqaCraft SuperVee 27 rtr. im not new to the RC world, been doing car and trucks for going on 15 years. but here's my question. i dont want to even look at lipo batteries. so i;m looking at using two 5000 nickel metals. how is this boat going to run off of these. and as back up batteries i'll be using 3000's, how well ar these going to do. what kind of run times and what speeds?:rockon2:

Lipo's are the sh** i would not use nothing else in a boat.

They wont do that well. FE boats are power hungry, NIMH packs just can't supply the juice. Here's a common formula....

Not enough juice = voltage drop = speed drop = people pissed off their FE boat sucks. :bounce:

Out of curiosity, why not lipo? Are you concerned with the safety aspect? Because lipo safety has come a long way since infancy. Reputable chargers like the hyperions have tonnes of safety reatures built into them. The videos you see online are guys intentionally shorting them out.

But like everyone has been saying. more power = more fun. anyone out there recamend which hyperon charger to look at. i have to be able to still charge my 123a cells for my rock crawler! and im not worried about a power source. i have that covered. model number would be great.:rockon2:

Personally, I like the EOS 0615i DUO3. It can charge pretty well any kind of battery you throw at it. It has 20 momory slots per chanel, so you program all your different batteries. It'll be the last charger you ever buy.

I second that on the hyperion duo... kinda pricy, but the time you save charging batteries (safely) is PRICELESS.....

Recommend you get a lipo sack to charge them, and also find a safe place to charge and store them. I charge mine in the fireplace in a lipo sack, and I store them in the fireplace in an ammo can with the lid seal removed so the ammo can can vent if one goes up... I've read too many horror stories of houses burning down...

Charging them outside is another good option...
