Just got in a 120A and it will not program properly.
What i got is:
Setting up throttle position (Futaba) all I get is a momentary green light on the esc's circuit board. Zero (0) volts going to the motor. No motor movement at all. Once in a while I get a momentary red light on the circuit board and an occasional little movement of the motor itself.
Tried settingparameters with the program board, but got the same results.

Any suggestions or information I might have over looked?

thanks in advance

Carl

almost forgot, I get no beeps at all from the motor.
I have gone thru the instructions till I was ready to chuck it across the garage.

Some esc's require you to set your tx to reverse on the throttle.
My swordfish 120 doesnt beep either.

I tried that as well.
It did the same thing. nothing

getting frustrated.

how do you know if the trigger on the transmitter is set correctly?

Carl

I even tried a different manufacturers radio and it did the same thing. nothing and no voltage going to the motor.

all i get is an occasional green light on the circuit board when i connect power to the ESC

Are you plugging the esc in with the transmitter in the full throttle position?

Hmm...Can you tell if it's powering the receiver?

it sure is

but nothing out the other side of the esc according to my digit volt meter

could the timing be off
or motor start set too soft?

I might try pulling out the pin to the red wire and putting an rx pack on the receiver. Mine did some funny stuff the other day and I bypassed the bec and it worked fine.

Britscoot;
if yours did not beep, how did you set up the throttle trigger on the trans mitter?

Carl, was just going over the manual. Just want to verify you did have braking "turned on" on your transmitter and you were pushing the throttle forward and not pulling it back when powering up the ESC.

braking turned off
it states to go to high throttle when turning the transmitter on.

"Put the throttle to the forward full position, turn on the transmitter"

Could be worded a little better.

Did you say on the phone that you had your end point adjustment for full thottle at greater than 100%? If so try backing down to 100. You never know.

We'll play with it next Saturday.

let me see if i can come up with some ideas for you. I am not too familiar with them. while they have performed decent I have not used them to much mostly as test units.

Did you try moving the throttle trim on the tx?

Steven;
just tried it again with trims slowly being moved and nothing.

also tried setting the EPA lower and higher, nothing.

no beeps, and all I get is a momentary green light in the PC board when i plug in the Lipo.

I even tried removing the red lead and using a seperate battery for the receiver once more.

nothing.

Carl

all batteries are fully charged.
even programed the ESC with their dip switch programmer.
even put the defaults back into play as well.

Is the motor ok? I just thought I had damaged my 180 amp turnigy esc .
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD-P0TgW7IQ

But when I got home, I saw the led light blink, counting the cells (3 blink's 3 cell lipo etc)
but no beeps from the engine, and it was a loose wire on the typhoon engine, the shrink tube held it in place making me belive the esc was damaged.Just a thought.

Could be a bum esc. Send me a email on the contacts page and I will send return info.
