I've run into a heating issue with a Lipo battery and I'm wondering if it is the battery or the set-up. I'm running a Mini-X (26") with a UL-1 Motor and ESC, prop is the stock SV-27 3 blade - the boat seems to like this prop (have tried others). I;m averaging about 54 amps, one spike at 75. Motor and ESC were less than 100F and the battery was at 145F. I was using a single Rhino 4S2P 4000 Mah, 25C. When I run pairs (2S2P 4000 to 5000) I don't seem to have the problem. Any ideas on what may be causing the heating?

Also, I'm looking at changing the motor in my 31" Challenger from a 12XL to a 1521 1Y or 1520 1Y; 4s to 6S, either and etti 150 w/cap board or a Swordfish 120. Will this set-up work?

Thanks all

Your batteries.

Try to use 1P packs only with a 25C or higher rating. I don't know about a pack that is built with 2P all in one package, cells could be out of balance???

So if it is single 4S2P pack, then the two packs in parrellel are not 25C, possibly only 12.5C each that is.. ??

I would invest in some nicer batteries myself.

If you want 2P do it yourself with adapters.

How many MAH are you pulling out on a run and how long are you running?
