anybody here using the Gold motor thats specifically for boats?

Those are 28mm motors, i.e, 380 size.

The 540's are red like the ones steven sells. Steven isn't selling the smaller motors. Not sure who would have them. Might want to try Astec in the UK.

I do not know the difference in the red and the gold. They both say "boat" motors.

There are also GREEN ones! Maybe it's just to give you a color choice? Dunno. Confusing. They all appear to be 4 pole motors.

Just a guess but I would say the location of the motor wires. All the "boat" ones come out the back for better water cooling?

Green, black, gold, red they are all the same. There are also many of these being made under different names.

Yep. I've been contacted by other companies pushing 'their' new motors. All made by leopard with different names/colors/etc.
