Todd the x437 is the one to start with. I believe it is the smallest. Just remember 30 seconds into the first run bring her in for a temp check. You should be fine. What KV is your Ammo?

110 to 125...ok. 130 get a little worried. 150 you can get away with once or twice. 150 and over more and a couple times and the magnets will start to die along with the rest of the motor.

Todd, just finished today at my local pond with my SV27. Had a new ammo motor and 2 bladed prop upgrade from OSE(nice people). Get rid of the 3 bladed stock prop(keep as spare). My SV27 went of its face to the hull limit. The ammo motor is a tough and can handle 18volts. It handled it easily as did the stock 45ampESC. Just get ready for the incredible increase in speed. P.s. I was also running 2x7.4 volt, 5000Mah Lipos. What a real blast.

how many runs do you have on that ammo with the stock esc and did you have to change anything on the boat like connections or anything?

Thanks, JL

Andrew, Sorry about not replying sooner, was having trouble with posting on the forum. My sons SV27 was 5 days old not mine. The ammo motor will will handle 18volts(according to the packet). but I still haven't tried it with that power. Hmmm maybe I should! Been spending all my time time taking all the factory defects out of mine and believe it or not had to do the same to my sons christmas present when it turned up around a week ago. Still trying to keep mine in the water. Plenty of power. More weight might be the key.

Avanti, about 7 runs now just thrashing the guts out of it(having fun) with 2x7.4volt 20c 5000mah Turborix Lipos. Wouldn't go any higher with voltage using standard aquacraft 45amp ESC though. Heat might become an issue.

Avanti, forgot to answer your connector question. Ammo motor comes with female connectors which you have to solder onto stock ESC then get ready for the extra bang in speed. Go for it. Its fun. Stock escape will handle it. So long as cooling system is right.

Thanks for the info Ratpoo. I'll be installing the ammo 2300kv this week. I'm just running two 3000mah 6 cell venoms right now. The 4500mah 7 cells I bought from All-Baterry.com were junk!
