With the recent sellout of castle motors and water jackets @ ose, will I still be able to get a water jacket for my 1520? I know Castle Creations has Steve pretty fired up right now, and I can certainly understand that. But will the rest of us be able to purchase water jackets sometime in the near future? Or are we on our own? :sinking-guy:

What is Peter's quote..." necessity is the mother of invention"? time to get some CF and perfect sized cylinders and a tube of sillycone... I'm gonna make me up one or two.

Wasn't here a build thread or two on how to make em?

Back on the old forum a guy made one out of some kind or container. I think it was a hair spray can.

Sorry I will not. I never got to testing for fit on the 1512 motors.

I did, but didn't know it was a 1512 at the time. It's 5mm shorter than the 1515. I used a 1515 can and simply cut a 5mm notch in it for the wires. This made slipping the can on difficult as the o-rings wanted to pinch at the notch, but did finally work. Project Apparition (http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/showpost.php?p=204504&postcount=217) thread has the info and more photos of the motor/can.

Guys are saying the 1515 jackets fits the 1520, but just shorter. Steve has a few left.

Has anyone tried installing the castle blower fan ? Being that the castle motors have small heat sink fins, maybe a fan might be sufficient?

Any air circulation will help. Problem is with a sealed hull, you'll just be circulating hot air.

I've actually had pretty good luck with air cooled motors in sealed hatches. Even in smaller 32" hulls. Opening up the end bells for circulation will help dramatically on an inrunner.

Of topic but, is their any chance or way we are able to get to the old forum? Are you still able to see it?
