Ran 47mph with a 42x55 and a good current, settled at 44mph-45mph with the same prop. Also had a 7xl with a aquastar 120 run 53mph on 4s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JSwz6hiRwc the grim 42x55 is the fastest prop Ive used on a sv.

You may be running too loose. The bow should run just barely out the water, check my vid on 4s in my signature. Boat never gets out of shape and runs 105-110F temps also that is with a 42x55 prop at 47mph (nice current, normally runs mid 40s). The boat is very slightly trimmed negative and the rudder is rounded and tucked to dump excess lift.

Try an X-642 . Its the biggest prop that won't over heat anything. It gets you up on plane instantly.
