Just got my formula fastech and im running (2) 2s 5000mah 35c lipo's, stock motor/esc and prop. Does anyone know if there's some tweeks i can do to run a little bit faster like adjusting the hardware on the transome? Let me know guys .THANKS

Oh also have 3s 4400mah packs on the way!!

First thing to do is order an Octura X642 prop from here on OSE. Balanced/Sharpened. Trim the boat up out of the water to where its still stable enough for you. Bump timing to hi (need programming card) Also here on OSE. And she will reliably run 35 to 40 mph all day long with low temps. I wouldnt go more than 4S with that ESC.

Do some reading in this forum. There are multiple things you can do to make it perform better.
This thread identifies a couple major ones. http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/showthread.php?t=12302

I hope you don't plan on running 6s on stock esc...

What not a good idea on 6s? What about adjusting the prop shaft angle up or down, or the adjustment on the transom of the boat?

Stock esc is rated at 21v, 6s would be 22.2v. Although some of done it I would advise against. Run 5s instead, just make sure you disconnect the bec first and change the crappy stock 3.5mm bullet connector on the motor & esc to 5.5mm bullets. Also if you haven't done it yet dump those deans connectors ASAP.

One other thing to consider-- there is no way to waterproof the hatch, so if you get too crazy with speed and turn it over, it will flood bigtime...

Good news is so far my son has not been able to flip it, running 4S1P on x442, moving to x642 in a few weeks... darn stable hull...

5s, like a 2s lipo and a 3s lipo in series.

so to make sure im following you, use a 2s and a 3s pack that are the same? and isnt my fastech wired in a series from the factory

Yes it is wired series from the factory. Take a 3s lipo and plug it into on side and a 2s and plug it into the other side. Packs the being the same means same "c" rating, mah and I try to use same brand. They should be identical besides the different voltages. Disconnect the bec (red wire) from the esc connection that plugs into the rx. Did you dump those deans connectos and change over the 3.5mm motor & esc connectors? I wouldn't run 5s until those things are done.

Why get rid of the deans? I've always ran deans for years in my trucks and cars, but never had a boat with this amount of power LOL! And im picking up those 5mm connections you said when the hooby store opens tomorrow!!!

Cars & trucks do not have near the amp pull boats due. Deans are limiting you, and so are the stock 3.5 connectors.

so what connections do you recommend?

BINGO :thumbup1:

Make sure you change all of them. When it comes to the power side of the esc make 1 female and 1 male. When you go to power the boat take batt 1 red wire connect + to esc connect batt 2 black wire to - of esc after that take batt 1 black wire and plug it directly into batt 2 red wire. You just created a series circuit and you don't need any jumpers or lame deans. Hopefully that makes sense.

At work right now, so I can't take a pic but maybe this ms paint helps for a series circuit. This (http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/wiring.php) can help also.

Yup it's the same  easiest way to do it. To insure I do not short the battery I hook the esc connections first and leave the battery 2 battery connection last.
