I know most everyone is using Lipo's and I have lots for my airplanes but just starting out with 4600 and 5000 Nimh 6cell packs for my Fastech and SuperVee 27.... with lipos on the way.
I know we abuse these (Nimh's) pretty much but is there a good write up on the care and feeding, charging and discharging of Nimh batteries ? The Intell 5000 packs say charge at 6 amps and get them warm before running. How much charge should we leave in them between weekends ? Should I cycle them a few times before use as I have always heard ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You don't have to cycle them but just be sure the voltage does not drop too far down or they may discharge. If you have Lipos on the way you will want to use them over the NIMH for many different reasons, weight, more power, etc.

Google is your friend: Try "nimh battery f&Q" takes a few seconds to find lots of info. The best info I found personally was from charger manuals like from Electrifly Triton chargers:

http://manuals.hobbico.com/hca/hcap0280-manual.pdf

Hope that helps.
