I got a chance to run this boat with a new prop and a GPS today. The setup was stock, no turn fins, 4s1p enerland lipo, x642 prop right out of the mold, not sharp not balanced, I picked it up on the way to the lake!

38.9MPH was the GPS reading. This little thing HAULS with the stock powerplant. I see absolutley no reason at all to sell it.....not only because it's fast, but it runs COLD. My temps after 8 laps with the setup where 88f on the motor, 100 on the lipo's and the ESC was even lower. 82. That my friends is GOOD electronics IMO. I cannot seem to get this thing to heat up.......

Also...if you WOT from a dead stop. Your BJ26 will pull the front end RIGHT of the water and flip over if your not careful! It would pull "wheelies" no problem. Infact I had to be careful cause I almost flipped in the middle of the lake taking off!

The boat still hooks like a bastard in the turns....THIS I think is beause of the steerable outdrive. The post about putting the flexshaft all the way to the end of the outdrive looks cool, but I bet it still hooks like a bastard and does'nt turn any better. I like the boat enough that I am gonna get some SS or aluminum hardware for it.

I think there is enough clearance with the stock water pickup to have a x645 installed. And if this thing runs this cool with a x442....I think the x445 might be the prop of choice for speed runs. That is my next prop. I cannot BELIEVE how fast this thing is AND how long it runs for.....6-7 minutes on these enerland 4350 packs and they where still at 7.39 volts each.

That's pretty fast!
I believe the "wheelies" are partly caused by the lack of battery weight up front.
The flex shaft was not to improve the hook, but to eliminate the u-joint. Not like we need more power in a turn anyway.
Mine has an x645 on it now. there is enough clearance!

That is some impressive data you have posted there. I would like to see it backed up with some pictures and video :).

Yeah Tom, I would have them, but no camera. My friend got some video, i'll see what I can do.

Diego, Thats a good idea getting rid of the u-joint. Your setup looks to be a good cheap way of doing that. Do you run lipo's or nimhs? I wanted to geta GPS with the Nimhs but some jerk with a badge came over and told us we had to leave cause there was no running boats. Even electric ones.

I did the same mod to my Mini-V, which is now with Dirtysouth31.
As for the BJ, she will be getting real HW after my trip. (late Nov)

Impressive. I can't wait to video my Ammo in it. All 2300 of them Kv's

You know, I will be surprised if that ammo motor is faster than this..seriously....I can't believe this thing goes like it does

Dude your gonna have to GPS that thing. I wanna know cause the ammo motor is cheap, and if it's a bit faster I'll most likley sell this motor and scoop one of those up.....But damn this is almost to fast for the hull as it is now lol.

2nd video almost done. Give me a few minutes here.

Stock motor 1606kV
Ammo motor 2300kV
It's simple math.
AMMO IS FASTER

Dude, have you ran it yet with a x645 and that motor?

1606kV @ 14.8V = 23,768 RPM <--- Your Lipo

2300kV @ 14.4V = 33,120 RPM <--- My EP4200's

What about tourqe? does that 2300kv motor have enough to swing the prop up to the same RPM as the stock?

and hey im just asking thats all!!!!! not trying to get into a internet fight with you lol

1606kV @ 14.8V = 23,768 RPM

2300kV @ 14.4V = 33,120 RPM

I have an X642 also. but I know that the ammo has nore than enough torque to push a bigger prop than the x645. So that is where I'll start!
No offense dood, and I'm not offended either. I am impressed by your speeds & your willingness to post video. I too am excited to run mine. I'm just going to do it with the motor I know well.

Well understood. Well make sure you GPS that bad boy. I wanna see you run that motor on the x642, then the x645. let us know man!:thumbup1:

The SV motor is a 1600kV and the BJ motor is 1606kV. I replaced the SV motor for the ammo and the performance was highly noticeable. I had 2 ammo motors, but 1 is on it's way to San Jose CA in my Shockwave Jet (that I miss)

Looking good. It has inspired me to get back to making hardware to fit this.
