The Drain plug at the back does allow the boat to take on water in mine.
Sat it in the bathtub for 60 seconds and had water on the right side.
Going to use something to seal that up better.

You really have to cake the Marine grease through the Shaft passage to stop water from coming in also.

Run #3 with a prop adjustment and the boat is more stable around the corners and seems to sit up a bit quicker

What did you do, push the prop farther down?

I wouls suggest removing the plug and epoxing the hole in. A nitro fuel bottel will take water out just as good. One less way for water to get in.

yeah i was thinking about that, but i found a similar aluminum plug that is a little bit larger and really makes the seal tight, no water was took on when i did the tub test again

:iagree: I pack it in every run, bone dry inside. it helps when siting at the starting line, holds back the water for awhile.

I just got done putting my BlackJack 26BL in the tub to see about the water i had coming in through the drain plug rubber seal. The rubber drain plug seal has water coming in when sitting flat in the tub. I see that one of you found a plug to seal it better, but can you please give me a link on where to buy it? or other options for a seal.... I really rather fix or replace the rubber seal then poxy it.... Any info would really help! I cant believe they made a drain plug after two runs it leaks...

Put an auto bailer (http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=oct-oc9204) in that hole...

most gasser sites have autobailers their used to getting water inside the hull

some of the guys here call them auto sinkers.

I would think they would use a stainless steel ball bearing, using a I guess it's a plastic ball would compromise it's integrity after being in the water after awhile with the impurities, that's what makes it sink your boat the ball is no longer a round.

A SS ball would take more time to move, allowing water to enter. that would defeat the purpose.

true, But the Plastic one defeats the purpose also:laugh:

My experience with auto bailers is that they can get "clogged" Eithe by debris from the inside of hull.ex. dust shaveings any residue left behind from the build.
I have also had bits of plant matter get in there also allowing water to trickle in.
If you are trying to plug the hole, dont comprimise.... Plug it add some glue or epoxy. If you dont want it to be permanent try some teflon tape.
Keep in mind a temp fix is just that temporary. F/E and water dont mix. Plug it and be done and worries over... If not ur just waitng to let out the majic smoke.
