I was just about to order some 6 cell packs..I think I will now wait a few weeks to see how this pans out! Mike

They are just now catching up with the Hyperion G3's that have been out for several months now. Hyperions are more but available and warranteed here in the states.
I give a great discount to the OSE guys.

I think they changed things a bit but they still list 4S/5000/45C packs for about $76.00.

The Burst rating mainly

Previously Turnigy was doing 40-50c cells, I have on order some 45-90c cells and some 35-70c cells.

Hopefully this will mean less voltage sag under high load.

They are not on our site. We will be stocking just the 3S 2100 25C's for use in our mini boats. All other batteries are special order. Just email what you need and we'll take it from there.

Probably need to set the LVC even higher now as they will most likely totally discharge their capacity before hitting 3.2-3.4 Volts. Gonna take some testing to still leave the recommended 20% capacity in the packs. That's if you drive by the LVC.

Huh? Where did you get that logic? They hold their capacity even longer. Why do you think they would discharge more quickly and why would you think you need to set the LVC higher? That doesn't compute.

I think he's saying that the voltage won't lag as much under load, meaning that they may run longer before hitting the LVC. The only time I've had an issue with that happening is if the motor is pulling more amps than the packs can supply. Which def. shouldn't happen with packs rated like these, unless you're severely overpropped.

I have experienced an issue once where I was drawing so many amps, the LVC didn't cut in right away and I got to about 2.7v per cell then it cut in all of a sudden..... Not sure if this is what the poster meant?

(kb45 1700kv with an X450 prop and 4s)

hmmm, maybe! I've never experienced that. But with the higher C ratings, that should allow more amp draw and help prevent it I would think.

Yeah, sounds more like a bad ESC than a battery problem.

Yep, also the only real reason the lvc would kick in early is if the cells can't [rovde the needed amps. Voltage drops, LVC kicks in.

ESC is still fine, and LVC cuts in nicely when im not trying to draw stupid amounts of amps from it... I just think on this particular occasion I drew too many amps, too quickly and the LVC didn't cut in right away.

the LVC is built to save the batteries and if its not keeping up its not working right! :glare:

What I was trying to say is that they will hold the voltage higher under load & that if the LVC is set to say 3.0 V They will totally discharge their full capacity & sometimes even more before the voltage drops to the LVC & you've over discharged your battery as there will not be around the 20 % capacity left.
Even when set at 3.2V my 40C packs will have only about 10% or 15% left if I let them hit the LVC (which I try never to let happen)
So these Higher rated Packs WILL hold their voltage Higher for longer & the packs Will most probably over discharge before they hit an LVC of 3.2v or maybe even 3.4V Remember over discharged is with less than 20% capacity left in the pack.
I've put back 5480mah back in a 40C 5000mah pack once when I ran it until it hit a 3.0V LVC. A 20C pack wouldn't allow that to happen.
as its voltage would sag earlier.
As a rule I try to bring the boat in before I hit any LVC.
Hope this helps a bit.
