I have just got hold of my first lot of lipo batterys so am a newbie to lipos. I have 2 zippy/flightmax and one turnigy all 3 packs are 3s 20c batterys and both say on the back not to charge above 2c so my question is does that mean I have to charge them at 2amps or can I charge them at 5amps safely?

For a 5000 pack, 1C is 5Amps & 2C is 10 Amps. (mah x C rating = Amps)
I still charge at 1C with all my packs no matter what capacity or C rating.
Cheers.
Paul.

better be safe than sorry, charge them at 1C.
Still a neubie too, so what does the "XC" stand for? When I got my Tunigy 4S 5000Mah batteries there were rated for 2C so I assumed 2Amps max and that is always what I have charged them at. So now the turth is that I can charge them conservately at 5Amps?

Yes, you can charge 2S, 5000mAh Lipos at 5Amp.
