i have a new ekos and would like to start modding it right away.
Can I install any, lets say, 540 feigao motor without changing escs'.
If yes, which rpm range is the best. All in All, I just want a combination
so I can reach at least 50 mph.

Not on stock esc from what I hear. They have a tuff time dealing with the stock motors yet feg motors. Might me cooling might something else. Personally with how technology is these days. 380's can perform like or better than a 540 with less weight. Or even equal. I'd right away order couplers shafts and dogs from rcraceboat.com even the 380xl might T least 2 sets of lipos cause unless u live next to a pond it takes about 45 min per battery so charging will take up most of your time. Make sure hoses flow well by blowing water thru them to test flow. Keep every screw tight even remove them and add blue lock tight to rest easy at night. And keep shafts lubed after every 2 runs at least. The hull seems to be able to take choppy water being a scale model. I've driven it in 6-12 inch chop no problem( in the ocean mind u not fresh water lake) alot of 55"-80" gas boat owners seem impressed down here. They have no issues with chop lol
