It doesn't have it. Its the same controller as the first version, but with improved cooling.

The new one is better just add a LVC and your ready to go you may want to remove the box and mod the servo mount to get a better lay out and make it more tunable check out all the threads here for help.
Check out Kintec.com there are a lot of great upgrades there for a SV

one question, what the best prop for speed and stability for this boat?

A 42x55 is great

I have a few questions about the new SV27R. I have the original SV with the stock motor and ESC. I think the original SV motor is plenty fast (maybe too fast) for this hull with the right batteries and prop. However, if I decided one day to upgrade I want to know:

1) is the new SV motor the same as the original SV motor? I know the can is a different color but the motor size, KV, and number of poles all seem the same. If the new motor is better, how does it compare to the Electrifly hopup motor recommended on this site.
2) is the new ESC the same as the old one, just with new cooling? Both are 45 amps and don't have LVC.
3) has the issue with the sides of the hull cracking been resolved? hopefully they reinforced the sides a lil better.

Anyway, luv the SV27 and glad to see it back. The black anodized hardware looks really cool!

I am really suprised that aquacraft did'nt incorperate an LVC in to the new supervee. That seems like a no-brainer to me.

Lets talk about the new boat

The hull is the same design. (ya just gota love the level playing field that boat makes) The glass however is thicker and the wood transom has been removed and replaced with bulker then glass over that.
Three fingers in the air (I promise this will be the last boat with the black box)

The motor is a new 1800 KV built like our 2030. (REX) the wires are easy to solder.

I will bring one next weekend to the badger race.. you coming? we are running P Spec Sport!

We put on the new water jacket and installed our trusty Tactic radio system.

The ESC is the same as the old with a new water jacket on it.

We installed a port side turn fin and removed the battery locating wood parts.

Price goes up with the radio.. water jackets and port side fin.. along with a few other things.

ALSO.. it was IMPORTANT at least to me that the clubs that are running a SV class have LIKE boats and not some (blow em away new setup)

Place in some batts, a Grimracer 42X55 prop and have at it!

LETS RACE!

The ESC looks like the one we have on UL-1 but it has better, larger cap.....

Great!!! sounds like they have fixed the issues with the hull. :thumbup1:

I might buy a new hull if they are available bare. Still not sure if the motor is upgraded but the water jacket definitely looks nicer.

Is the hook on the front of the boat removable? It's a good idea but I like the looks of it better without.

Got my SV27R yesterday.

The battery trays have been replaced with Velcro strips. The retrieve hook is attached with two screws and is removable and there is no hole in the cowling or the 'black box' for the antenna which I presume is now internal.

Can you tell me if the "R" is offered without the radio gear?

so in another thread (SV27R videos) GrimRacer mentioned that the new motor has lighter "caugging/cogging" which makes it easier to turn by hand, smoother on the water, easier to handle, and faster.
I have the BJ26 BL as well as the old SV27 and the BJ26 motor is very easy to turn compared to the SV, but it can't spin as large of props as my SV. It just doesn't seem to pack the same punch as the SV.
So will the new motor require smaller props and rev higher than the old motor?
