What do you gents think of running a Turnigy/Seaking 180 amp esc with a NEU 1521 on 6s in a 33" real delta force? and what prop should I run..... also can I run 40c turnigy 5000mah 3s lipos in 6s1p format or should I only run her on 6s2p?? Help....

I run a 1527 1y in a 45" mono with a turnigy 180a and an x445............ESC is barely warm(motor is darn near cool!) They are good ESC's.

I burnt up a 200 amp himodel in the boat... I think it was because it was hopping in the turns..... I guess Ill go with installing turn fins and putting the turnigy/seaking in..... thanks for the advice... the 1521 1y is 1550 kv.... so you guys say the x445 which is what I was running when the himodel went... will be fine?

If you have an extra 442, i'd try it first..........but the 445 may work.

I do have a few nice x442's will try one before the x445 on the 6s with the turnigy first... the x445 was ballistic.... very very fast.... I'd estimate 60mph.....

yup I have (4) of them and one of the Seaking 180's which is the same exact thing with a different name on it.... great esc's so far... I've never had one hot and I've ran some pretty hot setups in them on smaller boats... just never as big as a 1521.... plenty of 1515's though on 6s..... great esc with super smooth throttle response and easy to program... only drawback at all is that they are fairly large but lets face it.... it is a 180 amp esc for less then a $100....:)

Yep thats it, and its a brute. Big 10 gauge wires and three 35v 1000uF caps. When i log in at hobby city the price is a paltry $77! Biggest bargain out there. I have two myself. :rockon2:

That is killer!
so when I power my twin 1515 Hydro or Cat, these 180's on 5s should work with no sweat! :beerchug:

i now have three boats running the seaking 180 with castle motor and or neu motors..the 180's have been great..i am really starting to believe in these things..in higher current draw situations up to 6s its tough to beat these esc's..i cannot bring myself to buy another hydra..the price does not make sense to me...however i would like to try an ice 200hv..but wait a second..i can buy two 180's for the price of the ice 200..now i am really thinking with my dipstick...i wish i could buy a 6 pack of seakings..or even an eggbox dozen...

On your 180A, are you using internal BEC or external?
Thx

That sucks! Have you diagnosed what happened? Looking at the whole setup the big ole 447 seems to possibly be the culprit.:confused2:

BTW.........just walked back in the door from a hard run with a 180a.................barely warm. I am also running the internal BEC

The Ice 200 is not an HV. HV ICE only goes up to 160. The Turnigy/Hobbycity doesn't even comes close to the features the ICE series have.

I know the 1521 1.5d loves the 447/3, it can take more.

It has full adjustment of timming and throttle curves which is adjustable in 1 degree Intervals. Even the lvc is adjustable in .1 volt incraments. It has a BEC that you can actually use up to 8s (standard models) and is also adjustable for power output. You have firmware updates. You also have a full data logging. This alone to me is worth the money. You don have to deal with a piggy back system.

I got my 180 and the programming box. I can't seem to download the faceplate from HK anymore. It may have the new one on it as I do not have anything to compare.

How easy is it to program?

Andym...did this have the right faceplate on it?

Cna anyone give me a quick 1-2-3 on prgramming this beast?

Jeff if you have the esc instructions it shows the flow chart. Plug in the esc input harness in the box and connect a battery to the esc. You will then have item and a value number. Using the flow chart it shows what each number will designate. I'm not a home to give you an exact but that hopefully is enough to get you started

Cool...I do have the manual but knew many of you have set them up. I will do that...I am out as well but sounds easy enough! Just need a 2S battery pack to hook up?

BakedMopar

That's how I normally program mine with the 2s. You can program

1. Forward Forward/reverse
2. Cell count
3. LVC
4. Timming

then for each item stated above there's different values.
