View Full Version : Can someone explain 2s2p to me please?
I'm still not sure what 2p means ... I have new venom 7.4v 2s2p 5400mAh. Is the mah doubled? I'm confused. Thanks. Dana

two cells in series=2S1P
Two cells in series
+two more cells in series but the two packs are in parallel= 2S2P that means both of the positives are connected and both of the negative are connected. Hope this helps

2S2P means that you have 2 7.4v packs connected in parallel.
If each of your packs are 7.4v 5400mah, then 2S2P is 7.4v 10800mah.
If the packs were connected in series then the output would be 14.8v 5400mah
Ok what will this do in my new ul-1? I'm gonna get 10800 mah with 14.8v? i assume that the total mah of the pack is 5400... is there an advantage to 2s2p over 2s1p?

No.
You get 10400mah when you put two 7.4v packs together in parallel but you still have 7.4v
When the packs are connected in series then you get 14.8v but the mah remains 5400.
Normally 2s2p are two seperate 2s packs connected in parallel.
Your pack is 2s2p 7.4 5400. So it is two 2s 2700 packs connected in parallel all in one pack
Your pack is a single 2s2p pack so you would need two of the in series to get the 4s that you need for the ul-1.
I believe this is correct:confused1:
ahh ok...i think im starting to understand this...
yes i do have two of them...so i should be all set. now how come my charger recognizes only 2s? is this normal? it only "sees" 2 s ... should it "see" 4s?
your charger should only see 2s, the pack is 2s2p. make sure your wiring harness is correct to run the two packs in series to the esc,
well kevin doesnt the ul-1 come ready to go? i just plug em in and go..no?
ya you're right, I assume it is already wired that way. I had an SV and it was already setup to run in series. I've just gotten used to having to make my own harness.
haha cool man. ups delivers it tomorrow. cant wait! you leon and i needa hook up around here sometime man
Its a three day weekend coming up, maybe we can figure something out. I'll be running them at least two of the three days.
