:confused2: It is either too much power :doh:or poor craftsmanship on my part. I think I build like a rookie but I'm getting better!!!

Robert
PS
There is never enough power.......

The 1527 1D is a motor right off of the devil's workbench.
What voltage??
You should definately upgrade your driveline to a .187 cable if you stay with that motor IMO.

1527 /1D is a 2300 Kv motor its on 2 4s 6500 mAh Hyperion cells in parallel for 13000 mAh. And a CC 240 LV esc.

Ken that is just the way I like my boats, a real handful but very impressive. A steady throttle finger and maybe slow the steering a little for an old guy like me is all that is needed.
Not very often I comment on other peoples boats but yours got me going.

Absolutely! A 1527 is a power house. Doubtfull you can put all of the available power into the water with that hull. Still,........ you definately need a bigger pond! That is one twisted driveline.

Yep, put a .187 cable in her and find a pond big enough that you can let those horses run!

NO! and No! and No you don't build like a rookie. I agree with Doug and m4a1usr. put that .187 cable in. IMO if its 1512 series and up it needs the big cables.

Thanks  Guys,
You guys are making me feel great  about my mess up, so on to a bigger Flex cable it is!!! I also think I need a bigger prop as the X447 was not heating anything up but the flex cable. Any suggestions?
I got a big scare when I opened the hatch smoke and steam was pouring out!! But it was from the cable grease and I assume water in the stuffing tube... The ESC, motor and cells were cold to the touch...

That motor will pull 50mm plus props with the available amps you have, try an ABC S20, or a x450/3. Once you change the flex and stuffing tube out find a pond that is a little bigger and not full of weed. The weed we can see floating will take out your speedy that quick you wont know what hit ya. I love that boat though, over powered ??? Na just about right!!!!

andym no weeds, thats that cotton seed crap thats everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE!!!
I stuck in my GPS last friday and she ran 62.7mph, and boy oh boy I'm wondering what mph I will get out of the 3 blade 50mm prop? Then as Steven gets in more of the Swordfish 240 HV's I'm going to bump her from 4s to 6s and maybe even 8s for slicks and giggles

Be careful with props. That 27 1D can be hard on controls. Besides, it looks to be a handfull now.LOL

Took a lil time to inspect the twisted metal and found what went wrong. I'm now stuck on using no liner so when I grabbed the bin to start working on the boat I installed a 1/4 brass tube instead of a 7/32 and that gave the .150 flex cable room to move and wad up giving me the end result. Plus I had about 1/4 inch run out on the cable because I knew the motor would draw the cable up tight under power.

Bottom line, I need to keep my spare parts more organized, so I don't install what I think and install what I know!

Still go with the bigger cable that 1527 needs it!

I really like the strudder that I installed on the hull, now I'm wondering will a .187 cable fit in a 3/16 prop shaft?

Could your servo be taking the brunt of the thrust and kicking it? Is it push pull or single rod from the servo?

Good chating with you the other day.

Guys, wait until you see the next boat...bad to the bone. Not sure I want to build it but told Ken I would. He has to take the 18 wheeler to get it LOL
