Any one know where I can get a 2.3mm motor to .098 flex coupler?

Not flex but I can make one that is setscrew. You might find one across the pond but ti woud be metric on the 098 end probably.

Is there any reason that I could not use one with set screws for the flex shaft? As far as a metric one do you know who sells them?

I might have a couple of Jeff's I would be willing to sell. I need to check I ordered by mistake

Thats right, Jim! Perfect. Just solder the cable end and you are fine. I can tell you one thing...Ed Hughey has set more records than anyone and has only used setscrew couplers all his life.

What is the trick to prevent set screw coupler from slipping on a .078 drive wire. Do you have to file flats on the wire?

OK just checked and I do have two never used (I ordered 2.3mm when it should have been 2.23mm). Jeff made them and there are 4 set screws for the flex and two on the motor shaft side.
They are 1.25 inches long and .375 inches diameter.

I think I paid $10.00 each. How bout $15.00 shipped for the both of them

Let me know

Jim

Yep...flat spot on the wire to set the screws down on then you tighten the opposing set screws as well. Make sure you hit the flat spot. I file mine out beyound the coupler so I can see the flat area when setting the screws down.

I just double checked the motor and the flex shaft. The motor comes out to 2.26mm and the flex comes out 2.4mm. so 2.3 should work for the motor but I don't know about the flex shaft. Oh also I'm only looking for one.

Thanks every one

you would have to drill out the flex side of what I have. I am only selling both I have no need for them. it is up to you. You would be better off just having Jeff make you exactly what you need.
