First off, I stink at soldering. I jst soldered on the cap bank to my Etti 150 opto and with the 10ga wire, I had to hold the gun on it so long the cap bank got pretty hot. I barely touched the iron to the cap bank board to tin it. Just enough to melt the solder on. but after I tinned the + and - leads I was holding them over the cap bank and pushing down on the top of the 10ga wire with the iron until the heavily tinned wire melted together with the tinned cap bank. After wards the caps were pretty hot. Think they are ok? Cripes that ESC is friggin HUGE now w/ the cap bank, gonna be a challenge fitting it in the boat in a good spot. Also my 6mm bullets have a hole in each side which made for sloppy soldering. Hard to fill the cups when they have holes....

sounds like you need a higher wattage iron.

I was using a big gun type iron, so I think that was ok. IDK...?? Seems fine I guess. We'll see when I finish wiring it up. I just need to hook up solder in the BEC and plug it all in.
