Alrighty.....I bought a delta force 25 from Tom (SJFE) lastweek. I got it in the mail on Tuesday. I started building it tonight and after about three hours worth of work this is what i have...:D

All the hardware is mounted...The right trim tab had to be extremely modified due to the fact that the transom is so small..

If all goes well tomorrow it will get a motor, steering servo, a little shot of some paint on the inside and some Velcro....it may be ready for a test on Sunday!!:buttrock:

As far has hardware goes i have to cut the end of the stuffing tube to get the prop back in front of the rudder, and chances are I'll end up cutting the rudder up quite a bit,but that wont happen until after initial testing...

I'm still deciding on motors, budget, "highroller" or otherwise, but ill be running it on a Castle 125 and 2s2p.:tongue_smilie:

Let me know what you think.

More pics to come as progress continues...

Nice Casey... You do good work from what I can see... Everything looks set up about right...

Will be interested in hearing which motor you choose...

Casey,
Looks good.

I'll give you a couple hints:
Use 2 part foam to foam in the seams from the transom to nose (makes it a bit more solid). Add some glass on the bottom where you're going to mount the motor (I actually add glass or carbon to the entire bottom of the boat). Put a flooded stuffing box in it so you have as much vertical strut adjustment as possible. Cut the stinger down so the drive dog lines up with the LE of the rudder. You need about half that much turn fin and you can lose at least half an inch off the rudder. Start with the bottom of the stinger 1/8" above the keel. CG at 30% to start.

Go for 4000+kV on the motor and start with a Y537/3 that's been detunged. Don't use a fast servo on steering!!!

You'll love it. I drive mine like it's stolen!

Thanks Guys!

Brian which motor are you running?
I do the same with my motor mounts......most likely ill throw some glas in the bottom also.
My titan 40 already had carbon layed so i didnt have to mess with it.. i did add stringers to it though...

that'll have to wait till next month though. itll probably run a 6 or 7 L until then...

just because i already have them...

well a 435 works nicely too...mine got a bit warm after 5 laps(course the air temp was close to 90F:)). think I'd go with an 430-432 for the 1st couple of runs(just to get all the parts aquainted), but then you prolly were already were planning that :).

I appreciate all the help on set up guys!!!

i got a super good deal from mr SJFE....$165 for hull and hardware shipped!!!

but there is roughly $100 in hardware...

5 laps on what size course?

we are running 6 laps plus a mill lap on a 1/6th mile course...

so i may end up running a 7L .... am not sure yet...and the 7L would only be till i can budget for a NEU.

sry should have specified; 1/8 mile oval( for 5/8 of a mile). methinks I'll stay with the 632 fer mine(even though the weather has cooled off).

what kind of speed do you think you are getting?

Rex R

not sure, faster than a stock sv...at a guess between 30-35. was good enough to grab a 2nd place(even with my 'crummy' driving) at our fun run.

Casey,

I had to add the stringers to my 25.5... Be CAREFUL not to make them too tall, or you just won't have any room in there to get the packs in and out... As you can see from the pics I sent you, it's a pretty tight fit... The 29.5" hull is wider and just has more room...
