Looking for ideas on how to adapt a retrieval system, but want to be able to run the boat independently if desired.

Hmmm. I think I'm going to experiment with "pool noodles" and see what I can come up with.

Can't believe I didn't think of this before.

This worked out really well. Using 1/2" PVC and a few connectors with some zip ties and pipe insulation. The velcro straps allow it to be removed quickly.

Got to use it today. It was very cool and eliminated that "helpless" feeling of watching a boat drift away.

Looks great! For the zipties I used those stick on cable tie holders with some better adhesive and pop rivets.

I'm really not liking all the drag that this is creating. I think it's the cross bar at the bow that's causing the bulk of the drag.

I'll need this thing to move at more than 5-6 knots to fight the current at the inlet.

I'm thinking that perhaps coat hangers might do the trick instead of PVC... All it needs to do is keep the cargo from floating away... Hmm... the designing mind has got the wheels spinning.

Another option is to use it to carry out a tennis ball on a fishing line, it fits right into the cockpit. Drive around the stranded vessel a couple times and tug the ball out of the Villain.
