Hey

I have bought my self a SpeedMaster 45 Mono hull which is 37.5" long although i have heard they are a good Hull from my Supplier who does Professional racing i havnt heard much about them or anything at all on this forum except for people using the hardware of them.

Is it because i havnt heard anything about them because they are a Nitro based hull, as iam converting my one to Brushless?:confused1:

It says in the manual to use one trim tab on the left hand side of the transom which is a 2" trim tab, would it be better if i put two, one on the other side also?

All opinions on this hull would be great and any tips would be great to as its my first BL boat.

Thanks
Dean

Dean,

I don't know of many (any?) Speedmaster monos running electric. So you might struggle to find wht you need here.

You might be better off asking at International Waters - post in the Mono section. There's a couple of Speedmaster 45 threads over there, but I don't want to lift the info and post i here. Worth joining up if you're not a member, lots of good info over there, but I get my FE fix here

Dean, I agree with Scott. But there are many ways to do the same thing. I dont see a reason why you could use two sets of narrower tabs. The inside set tunes the straight line driving and the outside set tunes the handling.

Can you post a picture of it? Does it have a sealed hatch?

Hey Steven

No it doesnt have a sealed hatch but yes i will be making one of course. Iam using all the same hardware from the Nitro Version but just putting in a brushless motor. It also came with a radio box to use but i have chosen not to use that.

Just realised that i got the strut the wrong way around, didnt even take note, i guess i was more focused on lining it up center.

If i turn the strut around it will hit the hull, hmmm, maybe thats how it goes, anyone?

Just did some research and it looks like i have to get a longer strut mount so i can turn it around, i dont understand why it came in the kit then if its to short.

Thats probably the right strut bracket for a nitro boat. I've seen the nitro boats run the strut nose in a big hole in the transom. The don't have to worry about water inside like we do.

Ok, im going to change it and get a longer mount for it or ill whip new mounts up my self.

Steven, how does the hull look to you, any good, why is the inner rails so wide for this boat, i dont know how im going to get to the mounts when i have to tighten them all up.

How wide are the rails? 5"? 6"?

Randy (BBY Racing) can make a rail mount to fit your hull. Like this:
