my very first FE boat was a brand new Traxxas Villian EX. my buddy had an AquaCraft Hammer and we had a blast. until he bought an OM29 fully hopped up and totally smoked me. that was it, the start of a (2 years and 9 boats later) addiction. since then i wanted to do a villain build. one that would give that OM29 a run, like the one in this video, but do it on a small budget http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/video-pages/villanbypeter.php i love how the Villian looks like a real Scarab or Fountain type boat.
anyway heres the start of the build. so far i have gutted out the inside, squared off and reinforced the transom inside and out, and mocked up the strut and rudder. i am going with all SV27 hardware, homemade turn fins, modified kyosho trim tabs and the SV27 ESC/motor combo. i will be painting the hull in a day or two. a layer of glass cloth, motor mount and mounting the servo are planned for tomorrow. heres a few pics so far.

this should be a good build.

btw, the traxxas villian is modeled after the chapparal villian of the late late 80's and early 90's.

i got a supervee system in my scat cat 26. you can't get much better bang for the buck. i'm running it on a 51mm prop and it doesn't even get hot.

Where will the Strut go?

what do you mean? because the transom isnt flat straight up and down? if thats what you mean then yeah, i had to build up the transom to make it square with the bottom of the hull. dont plan on touching the strakes though, yet.i will post pics as soon as my camera battery is charged.
