I am thinking about buying one. Is it a good idea or should I have my head examined? It is either that to play with or an Associated RC8e to race with.

The 5t trucks rip!
gassers are sweet to run and work on, and they have great run times..

Does anyone know how the 5t compares to the original 5b? I here that the first 5b was a dog off the line.

The New 5T has the bigger engine and a higher RPM clutch, 8000 I believe. Engine revs higher before the clutch engages.

Just finished watching some youtube videos and these things are awesome. Didn't realize Carlo Catalanotto(CC Racing Engines) was so much into these. He lives about 5 minutes from me.

Oh boy, my wife is gonna kill me. OK, when I place my order is there anything else I should buy right from the start? Spare parts? Recommended hop ups?
Thanks again,
Alvin

I just spoke with my friend Marc, who works for Carlo @ CCRacing and he said he recommends turning the pistion on the stock engine. Carlo removes about .002 to .003 of the dia. of the top of the piston to prevent it from seizing when it gets hot. Has anyone heard of seizing problems with the stock engine? Or maybe it is a southern thing because it does get pretty hot here in the summer.
Here is a link to Carlo's site.

that's a good idea, but use good oil and a good ratio and you should have no issues at all with the motor..

I have not heard anything like that about the engine but he knows more than I do about those engines.

Still here and no regrets. I am also thinkin of ordering an Associated RC8e to race at the dirt track. I hope UPS shows up tomorrow before I leave to go to the dirt track, I will be racing a Slash 4x4.
Got any tuned pipe recommendations for me? I was recommended the Victory rear exhast pipe with silencer from someone local.
Thanks,
Alvin

Thank guys! I'm gonna run the snot out of her today. What upgraded tires do yall recommend? The stockers are half bald from running it up and down the street and I have only burned 3/4th tank of gas. I would like a harder compound all-terrain tire.
Thanks,
Alvin
