It's called chine walk. Sweeping the turn fin back a little will reduce it, but you'll lose speed. Best results for chine walk I have had with splaying the batteries only thing speed sufferes a little as well. Rounding your rudder helps as well. I used a dremal and cut holes in the sides so that the batteries can fit through the sponsons left to right intead of forward and back like stock. Click the ul link in my signature and their is a photo on how the batteries fit and also you can see chine walk isn't too bad. You can also hear me getting on and off the throttle to constantly settle the boat down. Also try to avoid crossing your wake because that will generate chine walk as well. Hopefully this helps and if someone has better information to provide please add.

Reducing the aoa with ride pads is the best way to get rid of the chine walk in a ul-1.

Ul-1 likes running on smooth water surface. Like most boats if it is too windy and water is too choppy UL-1 will handle like crap and be slow.

I just got back running at our pond today. Like always lots of ocean breeze with chop. It does dance around but usually stay right side up. I have been running it with the stock setup and an x440/3 with a little cup. I have been playing with every prop I have (all octura) with different strut settings and I have found this to be the best setup for my needs.

the guys here got rid of the wobble by adjusting the strut and cg (moved the motor mount back) and dumped the three blade props.

I find the three blades run much smoother than two.

I've yet to try a 2 blade on yet. Just a x440/3 and l40x57/3 are the only blades I've tried so far. With the l40x57/3 and my esc set to fast start boat gets on plane very quickly.

Never heard that one before. How far back? I take it they had to relocate the servo since it's pretty close to the motor mount already, is that acurate?

I dont know how moving the cg back would help any but i dont know much. These are the props that I have tried. I have about a day of testing with each prop with different strut hights and angles. some props are modified so itdoes play with its results. This is just my results of my tests. I don't gps my boat so no speeds.

1. X637 slower than stock
2. x640 little faster than stock but more heat and less stable.
3. X642 little faster than x640. Motor sound like its not reving as high. Probably too much prop
4. x438 too small
5. x440 about same as stock with less heat. decently stable.
6. x440/3 one of the fastest prop tried so far and best handling. Temps are all under 140.
7. x442 around the same speed as 440/3 but less heat and a little edgy on rough water.
8. m445 fastest so far. Wild ride. lots of heat probably too much prop
9. 1440 a tad faster than the x440. In flat water it runs really lite and temps are good.

I have not tried any of the Grim or ABC props. but I have some comming.

Great information baked. I really think you'll like the 40x57

I had that prop and is pretty similar to the x440. It now lives at the bottom of the sea. With sponge bob square pants:roflol: I have a 1742/3 and a x447/3 that will be cut down to 42mm.
