It should shut off an give you an alarm when done. As long as you put your setting in right. Are you charging thru the balancer?

I use a Shultz so it just shuts off when done.

It all depends on how many Mah you need to put back and at what amp rating you charge at...
If you put back 100% (5000mah) and charge at 5amps it will take 1 hour to charge..
If you only need 2500mah at 5amp charge then it will take 1/2 hour to charge..

Man that would worry me. The charge rate must be pretty low. If not toss the charger asap.

the charge is brand new though...along with the batteries....the only thing is that the chargers i bought were only $12 brand new from hobby king..

Is this what you bought?
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8247&Product_Name=Turnigy_2S_3S_Balance_Charger._Direct _110/240v_Input

Ask questions before you wast your money that charger will take years to charge 5000mah
you want at least a 50watt charger

speedfreak

yeah that's the one....i bought 2 of those

650 milliamp.... little over 1/2 amp. It is not bad for the cells but will take forever.

Get something that goes as least to 5 amp.

Does it have any light that turns red or green? If not who knows...not good for cells if it does not sense the charge and shut off.

You can put a Astro blinky between the balance connector and pack connector and it will tell you more.

speedfreak

it does have three lights on it...... when i plug the battery in cell 1 has a red light....cell 2 has a red light and cell 3 has a green light.....what does that mean do you know?

JimClark

it will charge up to 3 cells each led is for one of the cells green means that the cell is done. How many cells is your battery?

All three lights will be green when its done..
takes about 7 1/2hrs for a 5000mah battery

Unless you are charging a 2s pack

2s or 3s 5000mah pack will still take the same amount of time at 0.640amps

i don't know how to post the link but they are the turnigy 5000 20c batteries

well i charged them for about 4 hours today. in the begining when i pluged them in they were "cell 1 red, cell 2 red, and cell 3 green." but after 4 hours of charging all three lights were red. i guess well see tomorrow if thet are charged, if so it's about 5 hours to charge these batteries with these little chargers that i got for $12 a piece. thanks guys.

I checked all my batteries last night and all cells were good. All voltage was within 3.7-3.85 volts. One cell was below that at 3.5 volts. Also the 2 40c's already came wired with 5.5 bullets which made me happy, 4 less plugs to solder and potentially burn my fingers as always lol. Hopefully we'll see how they run monday tuesday or wednesday.

O I got you now. No I haven't attepemt any of that yet. I read it before and I also read the aoa one detox made. Both threads are GREAT, but Im kinda scared too. I ordered the new gps and I'm going see the configurations stand up with speeds. I also got 2 4s's im going to run in parallel, the xtra weight may work better. I think im going to re-read the thread you posted.
