Can the new 2.4Ghz receiver areial e extended or attached to another antenna?Reason: The manual says to mount the aerial vertically. In a boat this is rather difficult to do internally and the aerial is too short to make it to the usual spot. I have an external telescopic SS aerial that I attached the previous FM receiver to through the hatch cover. Im am unsure of the makeup of th 2.4Ghz areial to do similar.

Can it lay horizontal or be taped to the under deck area and still function?

sorry no pics as yet

Cheers

I have ran my FAAST system in and out of the hull. No probs. But I am assuming that other brand 2.4's may not work as well. Dump the ss tube and replace it with a plastic one to ensure reception. Beats the heck out of trying to find the pieces if it were to hit the shore.

I have my receiver antennae horizontal, coiled in all positions and I never had a problem. The new mono I am working on now has a vertical antenna, but just because I like how it looks (about 1" long...)
