Paper or Plastic

Ok, call me stupid. But what the heck is the difference between taking a plastic bag or paper bag at checkout? At home we recycle both paper and plastic. Doesn't paper kill trees?

Trees are a renewable source. Also, if left outside it will actually rot and do the ground good. We use newspaper in the gardens all the time.

The plastic bags can last 200 years and get around an animals neck and kill it.

Just my take on it.

but without plastic you couldn't show off to your wife by grabbing EVERY grocery bag at once to take inside the house.
