Hey Jan,
It's mainly gas/ nitro but the electrics are starting to get more entries each year, will be a great week of boating :)

as long as there are a bunch of people it should be fun, electric is the way to go, we just need to get our act together and push through... fast... passed the IC people.

Last year's Nats had 63 drivers and 225 boats, and I reckon this year's will be bigger! Certainly more electrics this year, since the biggest electric club in Aus is only 15 minutes from the Nationals site :bounce:

Electric classes are -

EA - 4S, max pack weight 600g
EB - 6S, max pack weight 900g
EC - 10S, max pack weight 1,500g.

Then there's Hydro, Mono, Tunnel/Cat and Sport Hydro for each power level.

Geez.. you guys are not kidding around! Some fast stuff should show in the event!
Good luck electric guys!
BTW, is this a mixed event, meaning, IC and electrics running together?

All 3 power sources (petrol, nitro, electric) run separate races. The EB riggers are not far off the fastest nitro times, and I hear there will be a few EC cats entering, which should be interesting.

Scott,
does the (EC) 10S rules state if you can use 10S1P or 5S2P?
Im building my HPR115 as a 5S per side.....Any Idea?

Hey Craig,
I'm pretty sure twin 5s is ok to run in the 10s class, as long as the total battery weight doesn't exceed 1500g

I have heard that this is illegal, unless you connect your 5S packs. But there is a simple solution - PM sent.

Some day before I kick the bucket, I hope I will make it down under, I was a opal cutter for 11 Years so it has always been my dream.

My father always wanted to catch a marlin, when he was 78 or 79 my brother, his son and my self took him to Cabo San Lucas. He caught a 9 foot marlin. Hopefully my dream will come true the same way.

Only 4 weeks to go. Only 1 week to entries CLOSE. Cant wait.
It would be good to see some new faces there. The following classes look good to go.
EA, EB Mono. EA, EC Cat. EA, EB, sports hydro, EA, EB hydro(rigger).
Even if you dont compete, the oppitunay to see the fastest model boats in the country running and to talk to the people that know for advice is the best you can get.
Looking forward to seeing everybody.

...hope you guys post up some vids and pics of the event. Who can put me in touch with some guys in Melbourne to have a run with? I believe some of the guys get together at the Rowville Lakes estate but unsure when. Im only 10 minutes from there so it would be great to meet a few new people with the same interest and have some fun testing and tuning on a Sunday weather permitting. I have been to the Carribean Gardens when the gas/nitros are racing but no Fe's there.

Try the AMPBA forum Kosta, there's a list of all the affiliated clubs there.
