here is the boat ^^

It was a nice clean install, but i stepped on the boat when getting out of the bath, so it's a bit rough looking now, i also had a mini rio sticker set so i stuck it on after fixing the damage

Link to Hardware (http://cgi.ebay.ie/aluminum-strut-and-rudder-combo-set-mini-series_W0QQitemZ300390474850QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRad io_Control_Vehicles?hash=item45f0aae462)

i used the following rudder, propshaft and strut from this combo deal ^^ these mini rudder and struts are all over ebay and probably on OSE as well,

http://i50.tinypic.com/z5lpx.jpg

Here is the hardware installed ^^ I originally had the rudder higher up, but turning was not good, so i lowered it and bolted it on near the bottom of the hull, turning is great now

http://i49.tinypic.com/111me6d.jpg

Here is the boat, the water outlet is just some silicon tubing through a hole and finished off with epoxy for a snug fit. The water inlet is built into the rudder.

silicon tubing (http://cgi.ebay.ie/Brand-New-Silicone-Tube-4m-long-4-5mm-OD-2-5mm-ID_W0QQitemZ300369764501QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_C ontrol_Vehicles?hash=item45ef6ee095)

I used silicon tubing with 2.5mm internal diameter ^^

Here is the internals, the receiver is baloon sealed^^

http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=oct-oc098r-24c

I used .098 flex cable from OSE ^^ the drive dog etc. were used on another boat

http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ose-2bld-3mm

i used the 27mm propeller ^^^ from ose, originally i used a bigger propeller, but it upset steering too much, 27mm works great

http://cgi.ebay.ie/Hobbywing-Seaking-35A-ESC-water-cool-rc-boat_W0QQitemZ280449790954QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio _Control_Vehicles?hash=item414c1c33ea

i used the seaking 35a esc, it is water cooled and works great

http://cgi.ebay.ie/2604KV-water-cooled-brushless-motor_W0QQitemZ300369765777QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadi o_Control_Vehicles?hash=item45ef6ee591

i used a 2604kv brushless motor, that cmes with a water cooling jacket, the motor works great on 2 or 3 cell lipos, it's really fast, the jacket keeps it ice cold

http://cgi.ebay.ie/ETTI-Flex-Cable-Coupler-3-17mm-098_W0QQitemZ310177168924QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_ Control_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4837fffe1c

i used the above flex cable coupler to attach the motor to the flex cable, i used a piece of brass tube to shim the motor end to fit snugly. The motor shaft is a bit too narrow for the collet.

The boat runs great on the above 2 cell battery, the above 3 cell battery turns it into a bullet. I tend to use a 3 cell straignt line for speed runs. I use the 2 cell for turning and flips, when i time it right i can do a really nice 180 trick with this boat.

I will post vids later.

Thank you

i used the stock brass tube as my drive shaft

it works fine with the .098 flex cable, just grease it occasionally

http://www.aquacraftmodels.com/accessories/aqub9500-2.jpg
MY GREASE

some people replace the brass tube with a bigger one and put in a teflon liner

this is a tricky job, i did it on another mini v, i will show that later on

there is no need to replace the stock brass tube and there is no need to use a teflon liner

Thank you for all the links to all those parts. Its helping me big time. Only thing I dont see is the parts for the water cooling. Can you explain exactly what was needed for that too? Just got my stock new mini v a couple days ago and ran it on stock battery one time yesterday for 5 min and was so depressed I put it up. Was rediculously slow, barely leaves a tiny wave behind it. If I were to guess I would say 3 to 4 mph max. Seems like there may be some binding in the driveline or something. Will try it again on 2s lipo after I grease the driveshaft but am putting in the order for all those parts you listed. Thanks alot for your time. T.

the motor came with the orange water cooling jacket on it

the esc has a water cooling plate on it as standard

the rudder has a built in water pickup

if you get the above parts and the tubing below it should be all you need

http://cgi.ebay.ie/Brand-New-Silicone-Tube-4m-long-4-5mm-OD-2-5mm-ID_W0QQitemZ300369764501QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_C ontrol_Vehicles?hash=item45ef6ee095

run the tube from the rudder through thr rear trnsform in/out of the motor/esc and finally out the side of the hull

That is just awesome man. Good job.

Does the stock motor mount work with that watercooled motor sleeve on the motor? If not what did you use? Are there any motor mounts that are easy to install in the mini v? I'm thinking about trying the fiagio 380L 8L 3633kv motor. Will that fit length wise in the stock motor mount? Thanks, T.

Between the fiagio 380L 8L 3633kv motor and traxxas 380 brushless 4000kv motor out of 1/16 revo which do you think would last longer and run cooler? I have a hobbywing seaking 50A watercooled esc. Thanks, T.

the motor i used is a bit too narrow to fit snug into the mount

it still is solid in the stock mount though, i put a piece of foam between the metal bracket and the motor and it holds it fine

also the stock mount catches one of the water outlets on the motors water jacket which helps to hold it

the stock motor is a 380 motor so a 380 or 380l motor should be a direct fit, if they are not water cooled

i put a 4000kv 380 motor in a mini c and i found it would not plane on a 2 cell but it was very fast on a 3 cell.

i think 2600kv is the optimum kv for this size of boat

i used a 2000kv and it was too slow

i used a 2600kv motor and it suited me fine, good speed and control on 2 or 3 cells

i used 2 different 3600 kv motors and they were only good on a 3 cell and difficult to control

i used a 4000kv motor and it was only good on a 3 cell and was difficult to control, it was a nice snug fit though

Anybody sell those watercooled 2600kv motors at a good price here in the states? Was hoping to not have to wait 3 or 4 weeks for shipping from Hong kong. Thanks, T.

i don't know about that

i am from europe and buy most of my stuff from china or europe

you could always try and buy a 380 size brushless and add a water jacket to it

if you want a motor quickly, sorry i could not be of more help
