Well, how about that. I move away and now there is a FE club there. Late 80's I was at 23 mile and shelby for highschool and college. My parents still live in the area, my brother is by milford, so thinking about getting up there to see a run sometime.

So, is it limited to first 20 cars showing up? What happens after the 20 are in? Further away parking or pay to get into park? Been a couple of decades since I have been there for an auto swap.

What scales do you race? I doubt I would be racing, not sure what would be required. Namba membership or IMPBA? The only scale I am even looking at is 1/16 hydro. I am trying to get a small group running 1/16 scale hydros locally just for fun. Little outrunner for the kids to learn on.

Still would be fun to get up there and see some of the scale boats.

Hi Brian,

Ironic indeed... I had to move up to the area about 8+ years ago from Indiana (Indianapolis), grew up in the Fort Wayne area. I still have family there...

More information can be found at MMEU.com We race at 23mile and VanDyke. It’s a little pond within a park. It's little, but it works.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the 20 car thing. I can't remember any time we have been close to that number. It's more of a formality; there is no marked parking at the race site. Worst case is we would need to park a little further away in the marked parking area. I don't see this being an issue at all.

We have some classes listed for club classes, but we are willing to accommodate any classes that have 3-4 boats (enough to run heats).

hi,
I just purchased a formula fastech and am looking to join a club and race. I just sent an email to an address on your website. Will I be able to enter my boat? I live up north now but come down that way once a month or so. I also grew up in shelby twp. Any info will be appreciated.

The Fastech would be legal for our 4 minute LSO Offshore class, you can keep the stock motor or run motors from an SV27, BJ26, UL1 on 4S lipo. Warning you will probably need atleast 5300 milliamps Lipo or Nimh to make the 4 minute heat. We run 3 heats at each race. We also require a NAMBA membership for insurance reasons.

Great! Thanks for the quick reply. It would be good to just run it stock. I have 2 reedy 35c 2s 5000 mah lipos. 4 mins should be no problem. I will join NAMBA rite now. Thanks a lot!

Here is the info to join from the NAMBA website

http://namba.com/content/how_to_join.asp

I too would recommend faxing your application. I will need to do some digging on joining at the race site. You can for the IMPBA, but I am not sure about NAMBA. Maybe a phone call to Cathie Galbraith (Executive Secretary) 619-424-6380 cathie.galbraith@namba.com would be a good idea.

We would love to have ya!!!!

. I will need to do some digging on joining at the race site.

You can if I'm there as I'm District 2 director still. In fact, we'll be carding and any that haven't signed up I'll hit up right then and there.
