he has taken out a 23cc motor and put in a fiegao 580l :confused2:
for that sort of $$$$ i would want at least a neu 1900zr

As nice as it looks that 150A ESC is not enough for it. I'd want a bigger motor too.

Why would someone do all that work and put el chepo esc in there?

The ESC is actually pretty good, I have one in my Speed Car and it is very similar to the stuff Speed Passion sell. I'd want at least 200A in a 1/5 truck.

AFAIK a surge is usually only 75% of the cont. so the 1000A won't be used as the ESC would blow prior to that.

We shall see, I'm using one for speed runs in a 1/10 touring car. Its massive! Only on a 540 3.5T now but will be going with a 1/8 motor and 6S in the future so if it can handle that easily maybe.

oh man, not an issue for that car..
I've seen these escs in 1/8th scale MT on 6s without issues

if a neu 1900zr (direct zenoah replacment) was used you would probably get away with a 120a hv esc

This truck is way way bigger than a 1/8 MT. Far heavier too.

Ah I get what you meant now! Thought you were talking about the 1/5 truck not my 1/10 TC  Yeah I shouldn't have any issues with it, although when you are so overgeared for speed I still need to keep an eye on it.

nice :thumbup1:
what speeds are you going for?

I've only used it once, it ran 53mph with 1/8 throttle! But the problem wasn't power, it was grip. I was using old foams from an old car so there was no grip at all. I've now got some better foams. Still snow on the roads here so I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

I'm hoping to break 100mph. It has the potential to do so. With the current motor I think that 90mph or so is the max on 2S lipo. Once I can get it running at speeds like that consistantly I'll go for a bigger motor and more lipos.
