Is that KMPH on the gps? Can't believe it's running 81.1 mph! Even 50 mph is good though.

Very nicely setup Craig. What size prop you spinning? you should be able to get more speed out of it yet.
Sailr.. it's 81 kph so 50mph

Heath the prop im running was a M447, i tried a M545 aswell. The M545 was just as fast but i thought it rode a lot better and the current was a little lower.
Im happy for now a little tweaking should make it faster i hope.
Hopefully fast enough to chase you and Scott around the lake next year

Adam,
the lake is at mawson lakes Just north of Adelaide. its the biggest lake this side of town.you can ONLY run electric boats no gassers or nitro and the sail guys havent come back
since i took the XS3 for a run or three.
Scott,
Iwanted to build a soild cat that would run in race water. the Neu 1518 is a beast,it running the same current as the 1515 i have but a lot more torque.i think the limiting factor in my setup is the turnigy 30c lipo.i think the New thunder power 45c would give me that extra im looking for.
Im thinking of building a twin motor tunnel next on 6S?????

what were the temps after the run?

Scott T

I'd love to get a 1518, but my funds are going into a 6S rigger at the moment, so no Neu for the MM. Will try a 1515 in it though, have to borrow one from my Whiplash. The Thunderpower cells will be great.

Heath , I ordered a canopy from rob just waiting on Australia post to do their job.
I was thinking of getting a Skunkworks hull but the Mean Machine looks promising(for now)

Craig,
It's called the Brisbane Thunder Down Under ( i didn't name it lol) next years dates are 2-4 July at our club lake in Petrie north Brisbane. We over every AMPBA electric class plus our own Restricted class ( SV and speedy or proboat motor and speedy) Club spec class ( a choice of motors from out list and any speedy)
If you intereted shot me an email to heathcliff1972@hotmail.com and i'll send a copy of our club rule book.
It will also be advertised on the AMPBA forum next year.

Heath has pretty much summed up our event. You'll need to be an AMPBA member to race, which means you'll need to join a club. But the fees are generally pretty cheap compared with the rest of the hobby! The event does differ from most other AMPBA events in that we run half the classes on one day, and the other half on the next - rather than running through complete rounds. And we do 5 laps on a 200m course.

You'll love the new hatch, it's sleeker, easier to tape up, and most impotantly - looks great!

Yep, I took the plunge for a 6S rigger instead of a 4S. Getting a Dragon from Phil Redhouse in Newcastle. Will have a 1521/1Y with a Schulze 24.150. Cells will be Thunderpower 5000s, maybe the 45C, at least 30C.

Thanks Heath And Scott,
The thunder down under sounds Great, hopefully Ill get time off work and my brother and i will
see you there.
Heath ill send you an email for the details.
Scott, how much for the Dragon hydro???

Im thinking of building a 6S hydro or a twin 5S/6S tunnel like the hpr06.(1100+ mm)
do you run a class for the twin tunnel??

the Hatch has still not arrived due to the Aust post strike i think, cant wait to run it and see if
it changes the aero/handling of the hull?

The MM is my favorite boat at the moment, just edging out the XS3

Hey Craig talk to Rob about the twin cat your thinking of doing, He's just finished an awesome mold for one, it's around 1000mm long.

Craig,

The Dragon is $460 or so, depending on what you want with it. I can email you some pics.

Twins can race in our classes, provided you don't exceed the battery limits. Like a twin 5S boat would run in the 10S class, with the approriate pack weight applied to the total of both packs. At least that's my understanding, we've never really tested the rules for twins.

sorry Scott, cleared all the old PMs so fire away.
My understanding is that a 5S twin can run in the 10S class, asked AndyG and he said it would be fine.
Just received the new Thunder Power 4S 5000 45/90C we
will run these on saturday afternoon,Ill Let you know how they go (gps and eagle tree)

The Thunderpower 4S-5000-45/90C are awesome.

Very good under load voltage. Didnt have the GPS with me so i cant give you any speed update but it seemed faster.

my brothers DF29 went from 78.3 to 80.9KPH just by going from Zippy to Thunderpower45c.

got some 42 and 45 mm 3 blade props coming, ill get some video when i run them.
