12 shipped for turn fins? how long are they?

Wake Maker

fastbaltek, the measure a total depth of 1 7/8". They are the stock turn fins that have been shaped and sharpened. They have less drag in the water than the original square shape. The price is $12 for both plus shipping. Sending them USPS will be $5 pretty much anywhere in the US. Can't beat that price, one from Tower will cost $16.99. However please note it is for the turn fins only, no mounts, but you can cut a new mount from 90 degree stock from a hobby shop. Thanks!

The mounts are needed for whom ever buys the hull. However they can be made with a hack saw and a drill. Thanks again

when did you purchase the boat? how many runs on the stock brushless?

I've had the boat for a couple of months. Used in between my gas boats. Tried to get the guys in the club to try electric with no luck. The stock motor was only used for the first weekend. After that I bought an Ammo motor and had been running that with a CC 120 esc. The boat really s still in great shape. I hear about so many with cracks and damage but this one has none, still perfect. Plus all the good mods are done for you already. Just ad a reciever/radio and go fast.

i was looking over the pictures and i was wondering if the hatch locking was still on there? i didnt see it in the picture. did you buy it new or used? i think i may have to jump on this boat. :D

I bought it new and did the mods myself. I did not like the idea of having the interior of the boat open to water if it flipped on the lake and getting on my batteries. I sealed the antenna hole and mounted it on the transom. The hatch lock would also let water in so I removed that as well. I use hatch tape to secure the cover now. Works much better and now everything is protected from water. You will also notice that since it is water tight now I also cut the radio box so working on radio/esc and coupler is much easier as well. Most of the FE boats are set up like this and is a better design. Let me know if you have any other questions and I will help any way I can.

when you say "drilled rudder pickup" did you mean you modded the rudder? kinda wish you didnt chop off the hatch lock thing...im trying to get some funds from my buddy at this time.

The water inlet pickup is just drilled slightly larger and a small round jewelers file was used to make sure there is no stray material left inside after machineing at the factory. At first I was reluctant to mod the hatch and get rid of the cowl latches. It really is the best thing someone can do. The lipo batteries I run cost just shy of $200 dollars and can be ruined if moisture gets in them. Every time you accidently flip the boat and you have an anxiety attack because you know your electrics are wet you'll have nothing to worry about. Look at every other FE boat and they run them the same way. The cowl lock makes it much more convenient but does not protect your expensive electrics and was placed right where the tape must go inorder to make a good seal. The SV27 is a fun little boat that was designed to be user friendly but it can be transformed into a fast little racer and with that things need to be changed for the better.
