i have included 5 pictures to show you my set up...first question. is my coupler on far enough on the motor..i had a really hard time getting it that far...tried pulling it off didnt come....so i think its on there...hammered(tapped) it further up to the point you see in the pics. Also my trim and turn tabs the way they are set now, keeps making my boat turn and submerge to the left like crazy...possibly to the right as well... any suggestions or pictures indicating how they should be set? are they too long i got them from Steve...combo 1.5 inch tabs. ive had them bent straight down with the tabs up a bit. I epoxed a dab to make it flush with the hull bottom? not sure where to go with this. Please help if you can..also if you see anything else that could help throw something by me..thanks, Michael

Diesel, the coupler should be on further than that, sometimes locktite or possibly a shaving from where the set screw was tapped gets in the hole and binds the motor shaft from going all the way in. maybe pry the coupler off with a screwdriver or something and look inside, if its really on there and is not wobbling you may be ok like that. also the prop looks a little big to me for 16 cells.

if the screw is stripped how i get it off..the prop is 42mm...what size should i get?

when you say stripped, are you talking about the where the allen wrench goes in?

yes..its not totally stripped just enough to where it will spin to the next tooth..ive tried different turning points etc. its on there tight but ive had a granapur coupler come off b4 and im a bit leary.

I see, try to get the closest size allen (maybe a little larger) and tap it all the way in with a little ca glue on the tip of the wrench, let it set, and then try to slowly back it out while pushing hard against the coupler.

would epoxy work or try superglue.. are you saying conformal glue?

CA is cyanoacrylate or super glue. dont get crazy with it just a little around the wrench to help it bite.

ok thanks i will do that if i cant find a bigger size that will fit use the correct size and let it sit for a while...once off do i shave the inside of the coupler?

i was finally able to get the coupler off and up further...thanks for your advice. Also i have it bent down a little(like they say to on tips about aquajet...but is it supposed to wobble in like a circular fashion at low rpm throttle? then it straightens out completely. Im asking this because the other day my gradnper coupler actually scredded apart(the flew wire part) so if anyone had anything they know about that by all means please do...

about the turn fins, one could have a bit of a downward angle and may be acting as an underwater spoiler, sucking one side down, or the other one may have an upward agle and be acting like a wing and pushing one side down lower than the other....

i took the trim tabs off but left the turn fins as they are...the tabs bent off so i just took the other one off as well...so no trim tabs now only turn fins. so if they are both facing down. and the rudder is level meaning vertical you could say

so would that have possibly eliminated the suction cup effect done by them prior to their removal?
